I've finally gotten around to take a look at this system. It's very neat, but the def up doesn't seem to work correctly. It does not capture and gag the Highmagic defenses. Nor does it capture and gag the Waterwalk message as part of Cosmic, instead it puts it up as a defense in the Misc category. Am I the only one who has this problem? Because I don't see anything I've done wrong on my part.
Unknown2009-04-27 10:46:31
Well, for most people waterwalk isn't part of Cosmic, but not sure how you'd edit that. But does it really matter? Also, if it's not converting the highmagic defenses, it probably hasn't been added. That can easily be remedied by sending the activation/deactivation and defence lines for the abilities to Iasmos, and he'll include them in the next version.

It's not a bug. It looks like your installation/upgrade is invalid. I assure you that the mental method exists in the code I distribute.

TCONFIG SKILLS?
My Highmagic script tracks roots, shroud, geburah, and netzach.
You can put waterwalking under Cosmic using my_defs, as described in the included docs.
Kiradawea2009-04-27 12:11:10
Did both, which is why it is strange why it didn't work. Highmagic wasn't installed when I did TCONFIG SKILLS, although Cosmic, Celestialism, Rituals and Sacraments were.
As for Waterwalk, I might have found the problem. I called it "Waterwalk" in my_defs, but it shows up under Misc as "Waterwalking". I'll edit that later and try again to see if that fixes it.

Every time I've encountered a problem with his defup scripts in anything he releases, it's because I'm using a different name for the defense than he did. It pays to run through the code a couple times to make sure you have it right. If you add it yourself, make sure you're consistent; I know even stuff I've done myself I've called different things in different places.

I used your affs:prone() for my own bashing triggers, and it had worked up till now. Other prone afflictions are cured properly, but for just plain prone, it doesn't attempt to cure it. I'm using 1.22 now.

I'm 99% sure it's not a bug and just a small configuration error on your part.

Hrm, the only thing I changed was to update to version 1.22. Hrm, oh well, if that is the case, even that information is useful, as now I know there's nothing wrong with the system then. Time to fiddle some more with my triggers.
Edit: Strangely, it works now. I didn't change the triggers since the last time, which makes it very strange.

I'd recommend you either copy the plugin files to the path shown there or change the default plugins directory. (I probably should note this somewhere in the docs, after I double check the default MUSHclient installation against my Treant instructions.)

This confuses me. I am not sure how to "get" the plugin files, nor how I would place them somewhere, if I knew "where" that was.

There's only one "there" in which you can "get" any of the "Treant" files.
You extracted them somewhere and then you set your working directory for your shortcut to that location, assuming you followed the instructions posted.
(I guess I should just make an installer for this whole system some day and eliminate all doubt!)
Vhaas2009-05-01 20:03:34
Now I am lost. I have the files (validity of statement pending), extracted them, loaded the template upon creating a new world, and am receiving those messages. After completing all of the steps, Treant does not initialize.
Oddly, I didn't have any trouble the first time I did this a couple of months ago. Either I am missing something, or getting dumber (lawsuit pending).

1.) I do not know what or where these plugin files are (I just unzipped Treant, threw it in D:\\, and entered that (D:\\Treant) as the startup directory for the shortcut. I am also not sure how I would copy them, or what I would copy them into (a text document of some sort? The prompt?)
2.) By this, I think you mean I should either make sure that my shortcut's directory is in fact Treant, or switch Treant out of D:\\. Is this not so?

It's okay, I had this problem too, and after figuring it out, I felt really dumb.
Both plugins are in D:\\Treant. To install, go to File -> Plugins and add them both.
(Is it okay that I helped, Iasmos?)
