I think it's a good idea.

I came from Dragonrealms, because my sister who was playing 3Kingdoms told me about Achaea. smile.gif

Though I'm not that old skool cause I never played avalon.

I hope Lusternia doesn't get flooded with people whose intentions are malicious... but I love this new idea integrating Kongregate with IRE. Kongregate is a great site.

I started out my IRE experience in Achaea, years and years ago (before Aetolia was released, before there was Cyrene, before the first Dragon, when Occultists were Necromancers). A friend of mine from another game gave me the link and said it was pretty cool. So, I went to check it out. I really enjoyed it! I played it for a good long while (including witnessing the first Dragon - Sarapis made a big ol event out of it, and I got free lessons for being logged in at the time, the discovery of Cyrene and the announcement of Aetolia's release) and then Real Life stole me away. After a few years or so, I went back but everything was different, especially the people and it wasn't as much fun. Then, I heard about Lusternia and thought, why not give that a try? So I did, and well, here I am. smile.gif

Everything in Achaea started going downhill when they introduced Mages. I'm way old school sad.gif

Heh a friend from real life introduced me to IRE. How old school is that? tongue.gif

I started playing Aetolia when priests were still around...Then I jumped ship to Lusternia in 2005. I've looked to Aetolia a couple times, but it was a passing glance. I may complain a lot, but I don't think I could play a normal MUD after playing IRE ones for so long. I think I tried it out from Mudconnector.

Yeah, every now and then, I try out some other MUD, but I spend the whole time thinking how much better the IRE set up is, the commands, the designs, the skills, the organization, etc. that I never play for long.

I was introduced to IRE through a real life friend of mine. I started out playing Aetolia. I got confused, and switched to Achaea not long after. I forget how long ago, but my character there is either almost two hundred, or just shy of it. I liked it when I first played, but real life made me quit and when I came back I hated it, with all the thieves roaming about. I think it got too big, too

I came across Lusternia a bit of a while after the release, because my old character is 115. Don't play her anymore, but I don't have a real life time reference because my memory is hazy : D

I have tried other MUD's, but as IRE was my first experience, I just don't like other systems. Also, the depth of roleplay here is much deeper than any other multiplayer game I have ever played.

and to be on topic.

I'm not too fond of the flash client... it loads waaaaaay slow.

Really? The client only takes less than ten seconds to load (kongregate's chat included) for me.
Noola2008-12-11 19:53:45
I've never had a problem with it loading slow either.
Unknown2008-12-11 20:00:25
Perhaps it's my connection, then T_T
Unknown2008-12-11 20:19:57
I got into Lusternia through word of mouth. I was actually, uh, pestered into it - and then I got addicted. I tried to play other MUDs but they just didn't hold my interest. I really hope we get new players through Kongregate, because maybe one day... Gaudiguch and Hallifax...!

And the fact that the flash client is on Kongragate means I can convince my managers at work to play.

We are seeming to see a larger number of raw novices come in. Some with naming issues, but we're at least getting people to walk in the door.

Might be a good idea to make sure there's a little more "novice" equipment on hand. Health/mending (especially communes with the latter), pennyroyal, mana, bromides, basic armor and weapons, etc.

We've been getting some very nice traffic from Kongregate, and I'd like
to thank everyone, most especially the guides, for helping transition
the new folk into our realm. If you remember your first experience with
a text world, it can take getting used to!

Our goal is for the Iron Realms flash to get 4 stars on Kongregate which
may get us on their front page--so if you haven't already, make an
account and rate us!

Penned by My hand on the 10th of Dvarsh, in the year 223 CE.

Can we possibly get to 4 stars! Pile on and rate us!?

If there are more novices coming in than comms available (herbs and what have you) we may have a problem, Houston.

FYI, there's also now an IRE chat attached to the flash on Kongregate which currently has a few IRE producers trolling about...

So, I can knock boots wih Roark?

:fangirlsqueal:

I'll be honest, it plays too slow for me. But I voted it up, and I'll do what I can to tell people about it.

It's ok, but is stinks in comparison to mush or even nexus. The map is pretty cool, though. Maybe if there was some way to make it fullscreen.
