I just need justification that it's either me sucking, or Narsrim being well over the bounds of Overpowered, and if so can I get my credits back to go find another mud.

If you really wanted to distract everyone away from the matter at hand just throw rocks and yell "Look! credits!" if not, keep focused on the matter at hand. I'm not the best combatant or do I claim to be, but I know the basics and one on one this is a bit rediculous, even I can get away from shuyin and his stun whoring. There was no escape from this.
Yes, rushing and hyperactive probably need a a tone down, but it's hard to tell because half your curing is broken/not being used to begin with/given your comparable might to Narsrim there are probably a few things that could have been done to get away had you had the skills. This is the case with just about anything though.
Nobody is disputing the fact that they probably need a nerf. However, you asked if it was you or if it was Narsrim and just about everyone is telling you it is both. Don't shoot the messenger just because you don't like the answer.

Well, I am glad I can make you laugh.
Want an even better one?
Given the two logs you posted, Narsrim would have killed you even if he hadn't been using hyperactive. It would have just taken him a few seconds longer. What that says about your initial query of you sucking or Narsrim being overpowered... I will leave up to you to decide.
As usual though, this thread is more about a bandwagon mentality of "If X did it, it must be broken, fix it now!" instead of actually looking at the evidence presented and seeing the person presenting it didn't cure properly, didn't stance properly, didn't parry properly, didn't use sparkleberry, didn't handle wounds properly, didn't use rebounding(generally useless against a monk, but there is the off chance they will hit it), didn't cure hemiplegy once, is 30% the attacker's might and due to all this it must clearly be... Narsrim being overpowered...
Again though, I agree, hyperactive and rushing most likely need a nerf. Nobody should be able to attack at 1.2 - 1.5 seconds for an extended period of time, especially a class that delivers wounds+damage+afflictions in those attacks. This doesn't mean that this case, one that would have made no difference to the final outcome had they not been used, is proof of anything.

Is it not also the case (aside from Hyperactive/Rushing) that runes for two-handed kata weapons are bugged and make speed ridiculous, but the bug remains unfixed for any number of possible, if hidden, reasons?

Seems like an awful lot of text just to say "I agree that it should be nerfed for the same reasons everyone has stated, but I'm going to be difficult about it just because I can"
Revan2008-12-14 04:47:48
judging from the fact that native bonuses for 2 handers doubled, I'm not quite certain that it's a bug for kata weapon runes to give 30 speed with 2 runes. *shrug*

Except for the fact that those logs tell nothing about what the extent of a nerf they need (if they do need one at all). So no, I am not just being "difficult" I am pointing out that Veracruz coming to the forums with two logs that show him getting beat down because of his own bad curing does not prove anything. Then the peanut gallery crying "It's Narsrim of course it is broken!" doesn't prove anything either.
Of course Veracruz died. He was being beat by an omnitrans, artied, demigod monk who knows how to (ab)use his skill mechanics. That doesn't automatically default to nerf.

It's not, for speed.
A 15 point rune gives 7.5 speed, it gives normal damage (15) and 1.1*15 precision.
Performing at sub 2 seconds with no rushing or hyperactive is a product of this speed b(ug)onus on 2h kata weapons. *Allegedly* the bonus is split between hands and evened out in some magical equation. In reality, not so much.

Well hey, can I have a straight 15 speed for both of my +15 runes on my katana then? Only seems fair, those things aren't cheap!
I'm not sure what Revan was referring to with the native bonus being increased. I saw a slight increase to precision. Speed wasn't touched. Even if it was, I fail to see how the native bonus has any correlation to what is being applied by runes, between knight weapons and kata weapons.

Pretty much the reason I will fight anyone 1 on 1 but Narsrim. Cause if he can't zap your willpower to 0 in seconds, and won't kill you with his hyperactive/rush op move, and you actually proceed to live... then its 1p wind mantra to burn through carcer/fall/crucify/anyotheraffliction and if course if mantra fails you can always TOUCH CUBIXXXXXXXXXXX SPAM
