Godwars? bring it!!
Godwars? bring it!!
If you understood what the words "Celenwilde", "Zerg" mean then no you won't be saying 'bring it'.
Hm except you don't have to face the celenwilde zerg so you probably wouldn't understand anyways.

Well, Glomdoring-things aren't supposed to help Fain. See what being a Fainite Glomdoring does? (see: Somaria/Daedalion)
Don't forget that being a follower of Morgfyre is also supposed to be forbidden. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand:
Kalas Malarious d'Murani, Whisper of the Wyrd (Male Demigod).
He is an Avatar of Morgfyre, the Legion.
He holds the position of a Dissonant Chord in the Harbingers.

Forbidden by Glomdoring laws, which was voted on and changed.

It's not? You can't have a little script for the area that does, on entrance: "If ((not Member of Fain) AND (not member of Charune)) {TELEPORT person AETHERPLEX} ?
IE: Novice areas.

It CAN be coded that way, but it looks like the Admin doesn't see a need for that right now. Godrealms are still new so I think they're just waiting to see how things get played out before they tweak anything.

So yeah, no, for me. I'm in Lady Isune's Order and there are hardly any members. She doesn't even have a temple yet! So I'm not saying no to everyone, but it would really suck if someone like Fain declared war on Isune.

I checked the laws minutes before that. Morgfyre's order was second on the list.

Also, Isune would have to agree. She may be absentminded, but I doubt She would accept.

Keyword - hardly any members. Definition - nine.

Yes indeed. The law forbidding Morgfyre's order has been changed.

If I may be so bold. Would there be a way to allow non-combatants to help their orders as well? Such as... oh, godless people walking around prime that can be influenced to work for your god? Making it a little like village revolts as well. Perhaps adding culture generated by the order members into the equation. Basically, make a war more than just a battle of iron, but a battle for the hearts of the people in the basin.

Good idea. People who don't want to fight should somehow be able to properly contribute, as well.

There are the entities in your Divine Realm, which you can empower to give your God 1000 essence (when not in a god war, not sure if that changes), and protect them until they repop.
I wouldn't object to giving noncoms more abilities, though.

Well another group of losties wandering the basin would be nice, but make it so you have to influence them (based on your god if possible like influencing fae) then give you the option of kitting them out to attack your gods enemies or becoming faithful servants for a while

Er, no one claimed it couldn't be coded, but (as I had said) I have reservations about areas which restrict people for certain periods of time (unlike Domoths and Newton where the restrictions are constant and permanent). Not only does it feel artificial, forced and contrived to me to suddenly be kicked out of an area, but rooms can also be impacted by certain skills. The obvious example would be demesnes. We have always rejected ideas where demesnes would evaporate under any circumstance, whether it be village revolts or wild nodes or weakenings (Roark has told me several times that coding removal of demesnes raises of host of issues). Certainly, we aren't going to start now.
But yes, we're waiting to see how it plays out, and I'll keep an open mind. Who knows, maybe restricting areas is the direction we want to go. But note that the system is meant to be a simple, straightforward and uncomplicated way for gods to RP conflict between their orders.
Acrune2009-01-13 03:49:49
What about a system where orders can form teams? Like, Fain challenges Eventru. Eventru says, this isn't going to go well, we'll accept if Terentia helps. Since that is most of most of mag vs most of celest, we'll say Fain is ok with that and accepts. So it would be Fain vs Eventru + Terentia, something both sides agreed upon. Both sides can have any amount of orders on it provided every order agrees to join the war on the side that they'd be joining in on, and all orders would get the benefits/penalties.
I agree that just order vs order and cities/communes vs cities/communes would both be lame, but hopefully the above would be decently in the middle?

You already have that. It's called eventru order bonds with terentia. It shows on godfeelings. if your gods ain't bonded, maybe there is reason for that.

Except what is currently in place has absolutely nothing to do with the order wars as they currently are.
The point of the suggestion is, instead of limiting the war to 1 order vs 1 order, or leaving it completely open as it is now, it limits it to a set of people agreed upon by both sides.

Cause then like... you'll have celenwilde v magnagora and glomdoring off in deleted land.
When all the gods in a city are fighting all the gods in a different city, well that seems like city V city.
