Uh isn't the point of a war for the strongest entity to emergy victorious??

Strongest entity can have many meanings though. If you mean the force witht he most people, best equipment etc then no. If you mean those that can command the arts of winning over the hearts and minds of the people, negotiating with other major players, using 'cowardly' tactics like sniper barage and poisoning food supplies, etc then yes.

Is Elo's temple even around? :<

I only found Eventru, Fain and Raezon's realm sad.gif
Saaga2009-01-12 13:45:05
Ash, they're converting Elo's temple soon.

Now I just need Lyreth to come back so we can get's a temple.

Why is everyone being a negative nelly lately? Hasn't even been out and everyone is whinining like a two year old in a toy store who didn't get the new my little pony they wanted.

I am personallly awaiting the awesomeness that will be the Lyreth vs. Auseklis godwar. Man that will be ten kinds of sexy.

Nobody is being negative here. We're simply stating the problems forseen with this new system and others are debating otherwise. tongue.gif

QUOTE (Gregori @ Jan 12 2009, 02:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Why wouldn't Lisaera's order either help or be helped by its allies.

That's war is about. You declare war on us. We and our allies respond. If you have allies they respond to.

Just because it is called Order Wars doesn't mean singularity. It means it is a system for the Orders. Holy argue semantics, Batman.

That's true about the order allies. Maybe the god realms should extend to order allies, too. The order allies/enemies part of orders should be included in this as well. I forgot about that.

Saaga2009-01-12 14:19:14
Yeah, Saaga practically grew up in the Cathedral... losewings.gif

And is in charge of it too! What can she be the Dean of now?!
Ashteru2009-01-12 14:21:55
And where is Elo now that I am active. :<
And convert his temple soon, please. I know he doesn't have invasion mobs and stuff, but still. :<

One thing.

How about only warring Orders and their allied Orders can participate in these wars? For example, Terentia vs. Fain would mean that Fain and both Terentia and Eventru (supposing the two were allied) could enter Terentia/Fain's realm, but only kills by Fain/Terentia followers count for anything. Ideally, gods won't go around just allying everything on their Celenwilde/Magnadoring side.

QUOTE
With a disgusting ripping sound, a gigantic maggot bursts into wet chunks of brown tinted blubber and a huge fly rises from the bloated remains of its putrid carcass and buzzes rapidly into the distance. An uncomfortable warmth passes through your body as you sense Fain's burning gaze upon you before a sensation of visceral invigoration bursts through your limbs.

You have an ego blessing

hrm anyone know what this ego blessing does.

I thought that's how it worked already?

How it works already is that there's no restrictions on temples or realm bubbles, during order wars or otherwise.

Ah my bad. My perception was that killing the mobs was minimal essence lost, but during the order wars the essence loss increased dramatically when the mob was killed by the opposing order and remained the same for non opposing order peoples.

That is the case (I think). It's also only tangentially related to what you quoted from Synl.

I've skimmed over this thread and understand both sides. It pretty much becomes an echo chamber when the same handful of people keep bringing up the same arguments over and over. However, I don't see a "slam dunk" argument that would make us drop anything and change the system. I'm not crazy about making areas off limits to certain players for periods of time--I can even see how that can be gamed. If we do expand the conflict to aetherspace, I'm not sure how that would even be feasible. In any event, we'll see how it works out and evolve the system as necessary.

One point that I'd like to address which I think is pretty absurd:

Stupid admin forced Rp. sad.gif

You do realize that by joining an order, you join an admin controlled organization. The gods do not have to act at the direction of the players, but rather vice versa. Anything a god does in his order, for his order or to his order is pretty much admin forced RP. If two gods want to go at it, they'll go at it. If you don't want admin to have any influence over your RP, an order is the last place you should be!

Haha, I was thinking that we should at least finish our first order war before we make a suggestion on how to improve it...and then when I looked up Estarra already beat me to the punch line.

I'm done beating the dead horse now.
