Right. So power aides will be hired to help the Minister of Power with real, productive work, like keeping track of power debts, or unblocking people as they graduate, not just to read logs.

Or you can all stop being lazy and make a simple 5 trigger line system to track your in and output.
sorry for being a newb, but not everybody can do this

I like it, and like the idea of it being tied to a CR. Probably not too high though?

I think you missed what the suggestion is. You can already parse the power log through IG mechanics to see the contributions of just one individual. The request is for non-aides to have that ability for themself only, as we can't read the logs at all and have to bug power aides to find out how much we've put in/out.
You do not get what I am saying, I am not talking about parsing the powerlogs. I am talking about keeping your own logs. It is not immensly difficult to count how many links you drew power, how many essence you put in, how many bards/scholars/pixies/other power things you put in as they all have standard value where only essence may be a bit tricky.

There is no reason for a power minister to have aides that keep track of power debts, if your power minister needs them for any reason but because he may be on vacation/unavailable due to ooc reasons then you should replace him, especially in serenwilde where he is getting paid to do this.
As for unblocking I tried that in Serenwilde, and despite repeatedly telling the aides what they should be doing most could not comprehend of unblocking novices and sending them a message where they can find the rules, and several only used the powers to unblock themselves and their friends.

Not everyone can beat Thoros either, do you want the divine to code an instant Thoros killing skill for you too?

RP wise there is no reason why Meleris, Miakoda and so on would even reckognise a CR1 let alone waste their time copying their names from a log on to a seperate extract for them.

Nys meant that not everyone has zmud or Mush or so on. I know I've hunted for power while connected via things like telnet or nexus when at work. Power values are also variable, based on different factors such as manifestations. It's not as easy a trigger as you claim, especially as you tend to have to ask around to find out how much power essences and so on are worth a year.

Not like it is immensly hard for a minister to put the essence to power ratio in the power projects. Nor is it at all that difficult to see that nimbus around the aspects.
I have a personal power tracking system that was quite easy to make and only has 3 commands: setepr to set the power ratio, perspower to see my powerusage and clearperspower to set everything to 0. I used this system even while minister of power and having access to the powerlogs, 1. it requires less complicated systems then powerlog parsing. 2. it does not tax the server since all processing is being done by my pc.
(oh and if you are using nexus or telnet I doubt you will be bringing in hunderds of power so you should be able to use that computer in your head, very useful.)

Power Aides are just for being worthless powerlog monkeys in celest anywho.
Shric, or whoever the power minister at the time is, is the only person allowed to block/unblock people.

Still requires knowing how much power each essence is worth at any given moment, and given that that can easily change from day to day and I highly doubt one would want to deal with the spammage associated with everyone asking how much they're worth every time they gather essence, that simple fact can cause a hangup in the system.
For an example:
Person A sets up system, asks how much essence is worth and sets the variable. Essence is worth 5. Person A logs off. Late at night when only four newbies and the Magnagoran Gank Squad ™ are on, Mag raids the Tide Lords for kicks and giggles using someone's Cubix. There happen to not be aquas awake, because it can and will happen late at night, and I think loyalsays defaults to off. One of the Tide Lords is killed, Loch, for argument's sake.
Person A logs in, there are no new posts about it, because no one knew to post about it. And goes to collect Essence in Xion. They're doing good and bring in 50 essence, then turns it in. Their system is now 50 power above the actual input, and they have no idea. And why should they ask?

The argument against this is silly.
