I just had an idea.
Some of us like to explore. We like to experience as much of the mud as there is to offer. However, one particular section, the mountain levels, it every difficult to reach. Oddly Igasho can get there at creation, and faeling/trill with levitation enchants can fleetingly visit early on, but this one section is virtually off limit for most everyone else, except at really high skill levels.
Woudl it make sense to have a Mountain Goat totem that could climb mountains? It's simple, logical and would open some areas and quests to alot more people of reasonable level. (Perhaps BOUND UP and BOUND DOWN, rather than SCALE)

If Geomancers don't get scale, neither do you.

You also need a grass totem, for when you really need to lie down and photosynthesize a bit.
...In more relevant news : That would open it up to the communes, but not the cities. Equality, please.

Communes are more tied with the natural world than the cities and ffs the next person who demands something purely because cities/communes want it without any actual reasoning needs to be stabbed.
Seriously, there are like... skill ideas on the forums which make little if any sense for mages to have, but they still want them if druids get them... (where's my psionics thx)

Hunting or its warrior spec version of it gets scaling.

Makes sense for geomancers. Aquamancers can stick with dive.

Ba-a-a-a-a-d idea.
Oh ho ho.

I agree with Celina.

Totems is great enough as is. Don't get it nerfed with your greed!

Don't mention the n-word!

Tracking does indeed get scaling. The only cost? You have to take tracking. Poor peoples.
It's not a bad idea honestly, in and of itself- but it just doesn't work in the context of the game climate. Even more so since we seem to be in an "I win by making things not fun for other people" spiral community wise.
So, think of it as a reason to invest in environment. There are some nice utility abilities in there anyway! Or, failing that, go tracker, or igasho!

Fixed.

Geomancers can't scale? That's non sensible. It could be like 'Stonestep' or something.
The real question, is that at least two skillsets (Totems and Geomancy) could easily and flavorfully access the scaled regions. (Heck maybe maybe Acrobats burn a rope comm to climb, would put access in all orgs)
Why is this region so exclusive to high level hunters/igasho?? Why are the mountaintops so hard to reach and stand on?
Seriously.. what percentage of the player base can access these areas?
I am just curious why this remains so closed off.

Short answer- Luternia is pay for perks. That's a perk.
If it makes you feel better, you aren't exactly missing much. Just a lot of regained balance spam, and a smallish area in snow valley. If you want to go to the igasho caves there, ask Akui in game.

Sonce when do the Igasho get Scale from the start?
Unknown2008-12-30 21:21:55
Racial rebalancing.

I do not want to worship Spirit Goat. Skunk is bad enough.

Accessing the mountaintops is already available in every organisation. It's in a common skillset. If you want to get into the mountaintops, buy the credits to learn the skill.
That's kinda the point.

I've got Tracking AND Environment. I happen to really like both skills, though I agree that, unless you like them, they aren't the greatest. I use them so often for flavor and making the game more enjoyable. Not every skill is for whamming oppponents to the ground.
