I didn't miss anything. Some people unloaded them for 1:1. I unloaded nearly 100 of them for 5:1. The majority of the cheapos are gone, opening up the market for my goods again. Point in case, in the thread near this one where someone wants 1:1, someone offers to pay 3:1.

Never underestimate the foolishness or desperation of people, I guess.
Personally, I do the math in my head to figure out if the item I wish to buy with dingbats is worth the amount of credits being traded. Never would I dream of paying 3:1 for any of them, let alone 5:1! But, yes, I did pay 2:1 for dingbats to get my Sparkatron 9000.

If I was going to sell mine, which I probably will, I'm gonna wait until the sale is over, thus there will be little to no competition, people will have to pay what I want, since there won't be any other way to get them.
