So, obviously a lot of people have interesting names they have created for their character. But, where did it come from? A game? Your imagination? Some constanant and vowels randomly put together? What about you guys with those impossible-to-pronounce-or-spell-names? Where did it come from?

Amatsemaru came from this game I played for the PS2 called Okami. The orginal name was Amaterasu, but I spelled it wrong when I made my character, obviously. Later, I found out there was already an Amaterasu!

Mine was supposed to be Shadeus, but I decided Shaddus sounded better.

Kialkarkea was originally a completely made up name when I came up with it. I later decided to make it mean "fire".

1. Find a box, scramble and randomly remove letters with your head. Use as a name.
2. Need a new name for later, take old name and randomly change letters in your head until it sounds fun to say. (Cahseeloo.)
3. Need a name for an alt Shaddus convinces you to make, play with letters in Casilu until you find a more elegant sounding name. Almost frenchish.

And actually, I make languages and grammar schemes for fun sometimes. People come to me when they need help setting up a DND campaign, since I'm good with making lore.

Well, in every other IRE game I've played, I somehow always manage to make my name gender non-specific. I was rather tired of being referred to as a he, so I tried to come up with something fairy-sounding that was also feminine, but not girly. I think I accomplished what I was setting out to do.

EDIT: Oh, and Saaga. Just a Finnish form of Saga, a swedish name meaning an epic story, obviously.

Shurimaru. Well, I made him during my (brief) Narutard phase, so I wanted it to sound all Kishimoto-y. I went with Shuri (Shuriken - ken) + maru (an addon for boy's names.). Kind of lame.

My alt's name is from my favorite Weezer song. (Now, those who care to figure it out might piece together who my alt is. I WON'T SAY IT STRAIGHT, SO STOP ASKING MEH. >_<)

I'm sure the DND nerd concentration on here is high. I know they tried an online game (which maybe you and a few others could try somewhere else perhaps, maybe a few others who want to try and someone with experience) but it sorta died when people stopped posting posting.
