Oh, how I wish that were true. Besides, most BT don't run around with crowsfeet when they can use spiderweb and bonenose instead.
Then I must have poor luck, almost any time I walk into a room with one I start getting hit with a delay that's probably them running through the list of serenweavers

Nobody is arguing that 3 of the skills in Dreamweaving are awesome for druids. It is the remainder of the skillset that is lacking period.
If anyone is being spied on over anything actually important they are morons. Dreamweaving is the worst possible skillset for spying there is. Except against complete idiots. Hell, I could spy better with Ecology than I can with Dreamweaving.
Illusions, broken. Have been for months, been sitting on my bug list since at least November. (along with a bunch of other Dreamweaving bugs)
Ability to harm people in dreamform. Nope, sorry. The best defense currently against a dreamform is to go to sleep.
Didn't you say something to others about doing some research before commenting?

What's your point exactly? It sounds to me like you agree that Dreamweaving is crazy powerful for Druids. If that's the case (and it is) then the skillset is far from lacking. While I do agree there are some bunk skills, I would quickly point out that many skillsets are filled with such. I found spying to be worthwhile in dreamform, and you are correct in that it isn't foolproof, but then again, nothing is.
Dreamform was never intended to be anything in combat other to be annoying, btw. I believe Estarra has said that herself. It was not supposed to be an actual mechanic to realistically fight and kill someone who was prepared.

Because the moment someone says "Dreamweaver" we all wipe off spiderweb and paint on crowsfeet.
But you can't have spiderweb & crowsfeet at the same time, and since spiderweb helps a lot when bashing certain mobs it's often on instead.

Yeah, I always had Bonenose up, because I HATED broken limbs. It's a real pain collecting all of the mob break-limb attacks and putting them into your system.

His skill stuff
un-defendable forcing = no hell no even.
A lower powered illusionary maze, that insta kills or holds you forever = no
an Undefendable movement where they don't even know what is going on = no
Basicly I wan't to be able to stab you before you have a chance to kill me If I can't do that then you shouldn't be able to kill me.

You can stab them... INVOKE VIOLET. And you can defend against possess, you just get anyone with psychic damage to hit you (assuming the possessor doesn't get forced out when they try to use a skill). And I changed the suggestion for dreamscape, so its not a maze anymore. And its not an undefendable movement.
Your comments = no.
I don't agree dreamweaving is useful for spying. At least, when I had the skillset, it was insanely sucky for spying. Most important meetings take place in rooms that can't be entered by a dreamweaver. Most important meetings that take place anywhere else are attended by a divine or a divine-in-an-npc, who usually instantly mention something about the dreamweaver (if not instakill them, like the good old days).
Yes, three or four of the skills are useful in normal form, as long as you don't use dreamform its got a few rune-clones that are lovely, not to mention deepsleep and control. Unfortunately, most of the skillset seems to be centred around dreamform which is effectively more frustrating than anything else. I disagree that you shouldn't be able to kill anyone in dreamform, I think it should be extremely difficult to kill anyone without them moving to safety or being very careless or inattentive. Dreamweavers -can- be killed while in dreamform, and now that void has been changed, I'm not sure there are any skills at all that aren't immediately going to reveal their presence. There really needs to be some agreement on what dreamform is actually supposed to be for... if its going to be an offensive skill, then it needs to be made offensive. If its a stealth/subtle skill, then it needs to be made effectively stealthy and subtle. If its a non-combat annoying skill for a lark, then the skillset needs other combat skills to make up the difference and a reduction of risk while in dreamform.
Narsrim2009-01-13 01:14:43
Most important meetings are not intended to be spied upon. In fact, this isn't a Dreamweaving issue. Stealth has all sorts of spying skills, and they are truly no more effective (not to mention that nothing will -ever- be effective against an Elder God who doesn't want something spied upon).
Most of the skillset does not require dreamform to use.
It is possible to kill someone who is careless and doesn't move while in Dreamform. I agree this is one area though that needs tweaked. It's a little too difficult in my opinion.

Excellent, we are agreed! That's what this thread is about.

Yeah, they're both uncles.
Odd.
Well, whichever one is saying that dreamweaving need some serious work before it's viable, I'll go with him. It's a useful skillset, but only a handful of skills.

I always liked Dreamweaving for its freedom aspect. It was awesome to go around without that fleshy weight
If dreamweaving were to ever change, I would want to see it with more abilities that let it go places, maybe even transverse planes. There is honestly no real one on one combat with it...(except that one time against a newbie who got totally mad..)). If you compare it to telepathy, dreamweaving is hands down weaker. But for fun and RP, Dreamweaving was flippin awesome. We need to put forth suggestions that allow more freedom. Maybe temporary cloaks that guard against such things that detect them? Or have dreamweaving allow them to take on the corporeal form of animals. ((Huzzah indians!)) The fun, carefree part is what rules.

A 10p skill that peaces the Dreamweaver (no offense can take place), but makes him or her immune to detection (although not attack) for 10 minutes. When you awake from this skill, your willpower is cut in half.
Lorina2009-01-13 02:01:36
I like it! The "you can't attack or be detected" is awesome. I so would of loved that.

Big Request? Make Dreambody go through doors, walls, ecetera. For gods sake, I'm incorporeal. I shouldn't be defeated by a freaking piece of WALNUT.
Two Abilities I think would do alright.
Two Abilities I think would do alright.
CODE
DREAMWEAVING - FLICKER
Syntax: DREAMWEAVE FLICKER
Flicker in and out of the targets peripheral vision, forcing them to glance in your direction.
This ability only usable in dreamform.
(Just for fun)
DREAMWEAVEING - LUCIDDREAM
Syntax: DREAMWEAVE LUCIDITY
Take control of your dreams, healing yourself of mental afflictions when cast upon yourself.
(Replaces Mindsoothe. Rather then 1p cost, changes to focusmind in dreamform)
DREAMWEAVING - FALSELIGHT
(5) Any
DREAMWEAVE FALSELIGHT
Allows the use of skills in Illusions or Phantasms through dreambody, at a hefty cost of willpower.
(Just seems to make sense, might not work out)

Passing through doors would be ok if reinforced steel was impassable, thus protecting all stockrooms and most council rooms, with or without eye sigils.

We'd need more doors that weren't reinforced steel in that case
