For the sake of definition - a god's 'realm' is two areas. A realm and a temple. For the remainder of this post, I will refer to the two areas together as a bubble, but don't assume when I say 'realm' in the future I mean both portions or even the single area - to me, they're interchangeable. However, the realm is where you find the roaming priestesses/maggots/sylphs/etcetera. The temple is the area that was the temple section on prime, moved to the bubble.
A god's bubble is made of two separate areas, a temple and a realm. The realm is the general area of conflict during a war - it can certainly spill over into the temple, however. To get to a realm, you can either go by aethership (the dock will always be in the realm) or through the archway/whatever that's the entrance (which will always put you in the temple). You should always be able to get to the temple from the realm, and visa-versa. A god is able to turn a portion of the temple into an 'inner sanctum', of sorts, designed to be order only - obviously, teleporting in etcetera will still be possible. Like Fain said, it might be filled with means to limit movement from section to section by the uninitiated, but there should never be anything blocking the way from the prime-entrance to the realm.

Unless there's been a change of policy which I wasn't told about, inner temples shouldn't be safe zones. They may entail the pressing of weird buttons or chanting of pig latin to access the secret bits, but the buttons and phrases will work for anyone.
Does this only apply to the off-Prime realm temple areas? Viravain's inner sanctum has always barred entry to all but the order, even if you know the way in.

Still is. I checked it out after that post.
And Eventru's post contradicts Fain's (as well as corresponding with my observations).

It may be that Fain wasn't 100% correct in his assertion. Which was news for him. But hey ho.

That's not allowed to happen. No wonder Kethuru is coming through, the world is unraveling.
Although, I'll admit Fain finally came through for us on favours.

The interesting thing to me was that about half of the Prime entrances open up into the Temple Proper (like yours appears to, and Maylea's does), and half of them don't (like Eventru's). The ones that go into the Temple Proper have a little mini-item inside the temple that you need to find and manipulate. The others have easy and visible access to the Realm.

Not true. :>
Eventru2009-01-18 21:53:59
They certainly are not 'safe' areas, even if the entrance is order-only. You can still teleport in, hermit in if you've a tarot with it, spore in, flow in, etcetera etcetera. There are also not guards, the rooms are not flagged as safe rooms, etcetera, etcetera etcetera. Fain and I are saying pretty much the same thing. I just think you all have skewed definitions.
You may not be able to enter by the same means as order members, but you can enter. And nothing stops fighting from going on there. They maintain the very same rules temples have since open.

Well, how our temples are laid out and how they impact on our realms is up to us: the way from temple to realm should be obviousish if it's not an open exit.
Narsrim2009-01-18 21:54:28
Correct. I specifically remember when Viravain changed her web.

This isn't exactly true. Aesthetically, Eventru's temple is the entire mountain summit. There is a structure on top, which will eventually be opened up, but his temple will also include an outer area there, as well. As the temple and realm grow, itll become much more apparent.

All right. I'll change that to 'In terms of how it's set up now, that's how it looks.'

How is it you players would put it? Lrn2Survey? Just teasing you. Eventru's is definitely a small realm. That shall change, however!
