Do not worry, as a man who is not afraid to point out when another man is attractive, those guys are NOT pretty. They make me want to gag. Nothing wrong with pretty boys, but those are just... ugh.
Ayisdra2009-01-29 17:30:17
I might as well posted mine too...

1. (genereally) stupid people.
2. Having an 8am class (there is no other time it is offered)
3. Being lazy sometimes.
3.1 Typing this when I should be getting ready for class.
4. Grading being a few tests and a final.
4.1 Getting a D in a class last term because of this, making my first GPA of college a 2.8.
5. stereotyped people.
6. Books being costly
6.1 Wanting so many books that I know will take me forever to read.
7. (Although I find it funny when I do it) annoying people.
8. People who take an elevator to the second floor.
9. Tuesdays.
10. People who use incorrect grammar just because 'since its not school (in class) I don't have to use it'.
11. Wanting to much things that cost to much.
12. Sports in general (I can't play them, nor can I watch them).

Of course some of these could easily be raves and such (like 6.1)...
More to come as soon as I think of them.

Well, I kind of agree with everiine. This is pretty extreme, but the point is that I don't want to be macho, or manly, or anything like that, and I hate it when people hold it against me.

I'm jealous of him. I wish I could look like that.

Which is another thing that I hate. People who think that I'm gay just because I don't want to look/act like a hillbilly.

THANK YOU! God, that's what SUCKS about living in the south. Every redneck mother*censored* thinks he's all bad-ass for calling you "gay." At least I'm comfortable with my sexuality. :|
Jonas2009-01-29 17:43:18
Aw, I feel for you. Living in Kansas might be bad, but the South? I applaud your perseverence.
Stangmar2009-01-29 18:10:07
Yeah, even being a conservative, masculine male, I generally avoid the South. I spent some time in Arkansas and it was creepy! No offense Noola.

ohmy.gif

It's not ALL bad! Honest. There are A-holes, of course, redneck jerks and so on, but it's not as bad as it used to be and the same sort of folks are all over really, the stereotype of the racist a-hole is just a lot more established in the South. But there are racist a-holes everywhere.

Stereotypes about the South are a pet peeve too. sad.gif Sure, there are some folks who prove them true (some in my own family, sadly), but there's plenty who don't.
Ashteru2009-01-29 18:23:36
I don't understand people ranting about Stereotypes, period. If they are comfortable with it, why do you need to insult them?

Wait, your post has me confuzzled. laugh.gif Who's the 'they?' The ones complaining about the stereotyping or the ones being stereotyped or the ones using the stereotype?

The people that are the stereotypes. tongue.gif

Arkansas? Pfft! I live in Georgia. It's worse here, I'm sure.

I used to live in Georgia. I've lived in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas and Nebraska (I was only 3 at the time and we only lived there for 4 months cause my mom threatened to divorce my dad if she had to spend one more winter north of the mason-dixon line. laugh.gif )

Anyway, my post about the South covers all southern states. Yes, there are a-holes (just like there are a-holes everywhere), but not everyone is one.

Tennessee here and racists are around every corner here. My kiddies are mixed and get called some rather...colorful names. I actually had a neighbor tell me to keep my little "N's" out of her yard when they were about 4 and 5 years old. They weren't hurting anything. They'd run from yard to yard because the yards are joined.
Everiine2009-01-29 18:53:41
There are stereotypes for the North too. My hometown is Chicago, so right now with all the national attention my frakked up state is getting...

That's horrible! comfort.gif

Go punt your neighbor.

Music at my local gym. It's always some top 40 girly-man crap that sucks to work out to. I want some frigging metal.
Jonas2009-01-29 21:12:34

Which brings up another pet peeve. People who think that they know everything about rock/metal just because they can play "Through the Fire and Flames" on Expert. (alternately, because they know songs on Guitar Hero/Rock Band. There is much better music than what those games have to offer.)
edit: which isn't to say that the music on those games is horrible. But still, there's more. Much more, and much better.

I dated most of the instructors in my gym, and they now always put up hiphop when I come. I really like my gym! content.gif
