Not all of us use the computer for such purposes.

I'm sure consoles have their equivalent.

Yeah, new consoles every few years.

I consider myself a gamer. Maybe not an avid one, but I enjoy text, console, handheld, PC, pen and paper, and Flash games. I haven't been gaming recently, just a few things like Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk, Bioshock, D&D, and of course Lusternia. I was into video games a lot more a few years ago.

"I'm a gamer." That's been my pickup line lately. Hum the Mario themesong to a guy and watch them swoon. >_>

Man that's like the second best way of getting my attention. (The first is being a hardcore music nerd and talking about obscure indie groups.)

I consider myself a gamer. I think there's different varieties of gamers, though. I grew up with the NES and Amiga, my childhood was Monkey Island and Super Mario World and Battletoads. Then there's the new wave of console fanboys, the kind of dudes who play Halo. Then there's the kiddy segment who play Pokemon and love their Wiis. And then there's the hardcore gamers who sample everything, be it tabletop gaming or an FPS. (They tend to be the "real" computer gamers and the kind of gamer most likely to play a MUD IMO.)

I am a gamer, it is my blood, my childhood, my life. I bleed pixels. This is not a joke, this is a fact. My first memory as a little kid was Sonic the Hedgehog on the Genesis. I remember using DOS to get to games my dad installed on out computer. Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Duke Nukem' 3D, and Dark Forces. I almost stopped sleeping for a week to play through Kingdom Hearts. I can rig dice rolls and card games. I could literally go on and on with the time and energy spent to acquire and play games, video or otherwise.
