Caerulo looks like a walking parchment. A faeling-shaped parchment. Other than that, he's kinda plain.

I like how you picked Jari Mäenpää
Saaga2009-02-03 08:05:25
And well, Saaga is meant to look artistic and angular and the desc should emphasise her love for the lucidian race and her lucidian-esque character - it came out too pretty though. She was not meant to be "beautiful", at least not in a traditional sense, but well, I blame Kaalak for the description makeover.
Kiradawea2009-02-03 13:39:39
Kira is meant to be a mouse. That was really all I wanted out of the description.
Unknown2009-02-03 15:36:26
I'm a bug. I...uh...actually, yeah, that's all I got.
Prisch2009-02-03 19:34:08
I think my perception of viscanti is a lot different than most people.
Sort of want to take it in the direction of some limbs being mutated and large/extending.

Yeah, I've always gotten the impression of 'freaky inbred mutant' when I've read the help file on the Viscanti myself and gone with that whenever I've made one. But most folks seem to think they'd be all pretty and stuff.

Well, I think you can be pretty and still deformed.
Which is what I'm trying to do. But the viscanti remind me very much of Parasite Eve so I am trying to encapsule that.
Hands and finger flying out like bullets and puncturing people's heads is far more interesting.

If I ever make it to demi, I'm going to have fun toying with Ev's description. I liked the way demis used to look back when I first started playing.
How did they used to look?

You used to not be able to tell the race of a demigod by looking at them, so demigod was like its own race. Didn't have any bounds for how you could look or couldn't look, and some people took liberty with that aspect of things.
Fionn has always had some resemblance to the Joker, varying in degrees over time. Whether or not this is intentional is up for debate.
Everiine2009-02-03 23:55:27
Actually, the ones I admired made just subtle changes to their description. It was enough to show what they used to look like, but they looked powered. A common theme was translucent things fading in and out of existence.

The way I always saw it was that most viscanti are malformed and ugly, but the elite ruling classes purge these "undesirables" specifically so their genetic stock won't be "tainted". (Pardon the pun.) That's why you see ugly viscanti wandering around the Undercity or (in the case of Great House viscanti, who can't be swept under the rug so easily) languishing in Angkrag, but most of the viscanti mobs in Magnagora itself are pretty. (Unrelatedly, I also like to draw parallels between viscanti and middle-class Victorian England, wherein people who worked themselves up from the lower classes had delusions of standing and tried to mould themselves in the vein of the established upper-class gentry. The tech level seems pretty close to Magnagoras, too!)

I miss this. I wanted to use it with changeling so I could look like a furrikin without crippling my stats.

Since I got my cameo, I've had all sorts of fun with descriptions. Favorite arti by far. My Elfen one is sorta "what you would expect"-ish, save for maybe the little bone charms tied in her hair, so I'll spare you... I dunno, I have trouble having much fun with traditional "beauty" descriptions. My favorites are Orc-kui and Tae'dae. I'm often Orclach due to pureblade too, so it's fun stuff.
I was going for Hooooooooo! with this!
I like my descriptions short enough that they can be read quickly, and conveying a certain image/attitude, more than going into a slew of details.

Fangs the width of a human’s thumb push up from her lower jaw, ending in fine points just below a small nose. Her corded shoulders flow into powerful arms, reaching down to calloused hands that end in sharp, black nails. Her bosom is unpronounced among the dense musculature of her body, wrapped tightly in canvas strips. She moves with a feral savagery, her actions at once graceful and purposeful.

(Tae thing I can't remember here) and carries herself in a prideful manner. Silvery fur covers her powerful frame, broken only by the charcoal grey of her nose and vivid green eyes. Densely muscled limbs move with a purposeful slowness, as if even the slightest twitch was decided upon after lengthy and careful deliberations. Several long braids of fur drop down on each side of her head, behind her rounded ears, each tied off with a small bone ornament.
