Why did you make it like you did? Whatwere you going for in it? This is not the Descriptions critique thread, it's the description concept thread. I'd start, but right now I'm using the lazy changeling description.

I wanted a sort of tranquil priestess-like character for Aramel. Add that to the "graceful dancer" aspect of the Moondancers, plus the flowers for Maylea, and you have my desc, mostly.

The wardrobe, now, that's a whole other matter.

Desc 1 for faeling: Make a little kid faeling, basically.
Illithoid: Just look awesome. Goal was accomplished.
Desc 2 for faeling: Make Casilu look more grownup, also give her some qualities like her eye color that can be drawn to make a comparison with a slaugh.
Lobo: Bother Laysus with an extra capital letter. Make her look ashamed and uncomfortable as well as give her a few elfen qualities and keep the slaugh eyes.

When I write a description, I just kind of let it come to me as I write, as I am often unaware of where I am going with the character when I write the way they look. It's the first thing I do when I make a new character.

When I first made Nys, she had a mohawk. I wanted to be different then all the other faelings with long flowing hair of raven black, blood red, or snow white. She's not the smallest, nor is she the biggest faeling ever. I kind of wanted her to fall square in the middle of average, since there are rarely people who follow the norms of descriptions. I was trying to make her a pixie-faeling, with young features and build.

I try to make my characters look like normal, everyday people. (Within reason, obviously, since one-eyed giants and grey skinned versions of the Hulk aren't generally seen in day to day life.) I've noticed a lot of people tend to make their characters either beautiful or horribly malformed, so I like to go for a middle ground. I kinda bucked the trend with my latest character, though, who's a male elfen modelled after Aeris/Aerith from FF7. He's pretty, see.

I've never tried playing a truly ugly character before. I wanted to go for a crazy old cat-woman vibe with Nyir, and make her appear like the sort of person I could see sitting in the trees, shaking her cudgel as she demands you get off her lawn. I combined that image with what I picture someone who stores carrion and uses Crow's abilities might look like. With carrion storing, she'd be eating a ton without technically eating, and with a lot of the other abilities, she would be capable of easily spreading disease.

Frankly, I'm surprised people will even touch my character.

Myrkr's had pretty much the same description, except her size grew greatly when she became a Shadowdancer.

My description for Myrkr was meant to make it very clear right away that she was meant for having a family. I wanted that clear in no uncertain terms. Her initial size was meant to provide difficulty in her ever conceiving children, making a great deal of irony.

Myrkr is meant to be a pixie-faeling (being more pixie than elfen), though certain people will live by HELP FAELING no matter what.

For my current alt, who is also a faeling, I wanted her to seem creepy. A few people seem to think she is, so, I'm set!

The description is generic enough to fit most races, while remaining distinctly Gloomy. Rather handy.

I went for fat and gross with Estwald, and I updated it a little when I became demi but the essentials are still there.

No matter how 'pretty' someones desc is, they are far more attractive by the way they act and if it comes out through their RP.

Everiine's description changed a little over time, to reflect changes in his age and a few ritual things. But I never wanted to make him over the top sexy. I just described him simply (though it was apparently enough for him to get hit on a lot). I like shorter descriptions, and now that I encourage Serenguard to put their Stripes in their descriptions, I definitely had to save on the description to fit them in. I just wanted him to look in shape and not over-the-top.

Eliron's original description was based on a velociraptor from Jurassic Park. I wanted a six foot tall fire-breathing velociraptor with a viola.

Eliron's current description is Druken deciding that if he was going to kiss a lizard, it would damn well be a good looking lizard and invoking Mother Night on Eliron to prettify him.

I try to make my characters fairly average looking for their race with one or two attractive features, but generally just average. (I'm one of those who sticks to the HELP (RACE) blueprints. I figure, that's what they're there for! ) I do that cause I figure it makes me unique in all the 'I'm so hot' descriptions out there.

Us simple ones are the unique ones. Everyone else tries to hard. It's amusing how many people think "Her hair cascades down her back" is orignal.

If I ever make it to demi, I'm going to have fun toying with Ev's description. I liked the way demis used to look back when I first started playing.
