There once was Nihilist named Thoros who proceeded to pwn and plunder all the Basin.
Moral of the story: anyone who says Nihilists were/are gimpy is a filthy liar.

Thoros was a nihilist many, many nerfs ago. Feel free to ask Thoros what he thought about his Nihilist days compared to Nihilists post mugwump nerf and pre crucify and recent buffs.
I'll save you the time. They sucked.

I would never, ever, ever ask Thoros about his sandbox and his toy soldiers because for some reason, his sandbox and toy soldiers are always the most underpowered, gimpy and sucky ones and are in desperate need of buffs
But let us not derail the thread, enough kidding around

I'd just get one, I heard that takes an unholy amount of time.
Vathael2009-02-10 22:26:01
You'll be there for a while.
EDIT: To clarify, I made a system for Aetolia in a couple of weeks. I give up before I even get done with diagnose triggers here. Then there is wounding you have to take into account for and three different sip priorities and the many other forms you can use to heal.

There are a few free systems that are kept up to date out there if you check the mechanic's corner section. One is for Cmud and the other for Mush. If you use either of those platforms it could help you save a lot of time.
Vathael2009-02-10 22:32:20
There is also a free version of Palisade for ZMUD that isn't that fantastic out of the box and completely out of date and needs a lot of updating but you could very well scrap all the crap in it and keep the base of it and go from there with it and make it into your own and it can be a good system. I have two versions of it myself. One of them that works perfectly and another that I am working on that still works decent and is pretty fast but it sometimes catches up and loops itself which I haven't figured out yet. Shuyin also uses his own version of Palisade and Sarrasri has some form of one. Other than that, that's about the extent of people that use it. The rest use Catarin's CMUD system. Ethelon has one out of date Mush system that can get you killed better than anything else. Then there is Treant for Mush which is supposedly pretty decent I haven't done any testing with it however.

Ethelon's paid system for MUSH is pretty good too and is kept fairly updated. Treant works well, is free to use, but you have to get a paid support contract if you need help with it (which you may not, the system is built to work). It is updated VERY frequently as well.

In the words of William Blayke:
I must create my own System, or else be enslaved by another man's.
Not really interested in using someone else's work if I can do it myself.

Sure, make your own, all that time forging will be the perfect chance to do alot of coding.

I decided, upon choosing to return to Lusternia, that I wanted to make a system; rather than creating my own I decided to adapt Whyte's. It's already mostly done and I've only been working on it for maybe a week.

Please name the nerfs that impacted 1-on-1 combat. I can't think of a single one, but I can list several upgrades!
Shamarah2009-02-10 23:00:46
Well, the fact that people figured out how to deal with what he was doing.
However they have indeed received some interesting upgrades since then and I'm hopeful that I can make the class work!

Damage: 61 Precision: 167 Speed: 300
It is crawling with dark shadows.
It has a Great Rune of the Puissant Knight attached to it (#27276).
Aynaral, the Merciless has no poisons or magical effects on it.
Both are the same stats.

A dwarven rune shaped like a wolf has been etched in coal.
A dwarven rune shaped like an axe has been etched in coal.
A dwarven rune shaped like a boar has been etched in coal.
It has a Great Rune of the Vernal Knight attached to it (#132664).
It has a Great Rune of the Cosmic Champion attached to it (#132080).

This is the -only- thing I miss about Achaea.
I wish I could throw Vadi in a bag and force him to play Lusternia and code me a system like his in Achaea. Such a good system, easy to use, has versions for Nexus, Zmud, Mush, and no telling what else, top-knotch support (and believe me, it takes patience to deal with my lack of coding abilities). I miss Vadi...
