I thought.. you said you belonged to no subgroup (??franchise??)!!!!!!
I said I didn't have the exact same line about being loyal to the big four, then can side with the loyalists or kids if they break apart. I'm not giving out any more details than that right now. I doubt I'm the only one who doesn't have that line though.
By "franchise" I mean, Mario is a franchise, and Peach/Daisy/Mario/Luigi/Bowser all come from it. Anyone who doesn't come from another game franchise would have been made up for Brawl and thus, if Dai's reasoning is correct, likely a scum.
Anyway...I guess I'll hold onto this pokeball for now...

Solanis wins with "the Kids", which doesn't sound like a franchise to me. It sounds more like maybe there's seperate "mini-groupings" other than scum/town, but not necessarily based on game. For example, maybe all the child town characters win with "the Kids".
Unknown2009-02-18 11:22:20
There are no playable characters that were made up from Brawl, they all came from other places originally
Unknown2009-02-18 11:22:35
Uhh, I meant, FOR Brawl.
Dai2009-02-18 11:23:14
That's my reasoning, maybe the scum = the non player characters, which are the villains in the game, e.g. Tabuu.

Umm, when I said 'win with the Kids' I was posting it from Arix's (Lucas) thing. Not for me.
Dai2009-02-18 11:24:44
Sorry, my mistake.

I know that. But Lucas, kid or otherwise, is part of an existing franchise: Mother/Earthbound (not sure if that was in the death role but I've played the dejap version.)

We're not talking about playable characters though. Given that there are NPCs filling out the remaining slots, we can't be sure that it's not the case that everyone who could be considered a townie in some way is a PC, then the scum (or at least one group of them?) are the NPCs made up for Brawl (if Dai is right about that.)
Unknown2009-02-18 11:34:52
Ah, I was under the impression that the only NPCs in the singler player mode were... little crappy weak random creatures.
But they aren't. If you read the wiki, bad guys are probably Tabuu, Master Hand, Crazy Hand, Ancient Minister., because Tabuu is the head honcho who blasts guys into trophies in the plot. (not sure about Ganondorf, since he's playable).

Alright, sleepy time. So don't lynch me for not posting!
Dai2009-02-18 11:41:38
I need to get going, too. I'll be out all day and probably won't get a chance to check back in before I go to bed -- so expect another post from me in 12+ hours. (Sorry about that.) No lynching me while I can't defend myself, if you please!

And for reference, I also win with the big four, though I have two subgroups I can apparently win with.

Well, in Brawl, you have the situation where the series villians (Ganon, Wario, King Dedede) are all bad guys, attacking the good guys. So right now, I would say that anyone we find for sure is a villain needs to be offed, and then, once we see their role, we'll know if the villains in general are a scum group or not.
Hm. Also, I wonder if the actual Big Four are a mason group?
Aaand.. Smash Ball or Sand Bag.. I suppose I'll go with...

"It's Doman. Doman did it. He's always been up to no good." Shaddus yells and points his arm cannon towards Doman.
"Shaddus... Shaddus what do you think you're doing. Put down that weapon."
"Sorry Pikachu, but Doman is the enemy, we can't let him live."
"Shaddus!" Pikachu tries to knock Shaddus' gun out of course, but she fails, and Shaddus fires a large bolt of crackling blue energy into Doman. Doman stares dumbstruck, before the blue energy envelopes him and he falls onto the ground as a lifeless statue. When the smoke settles, Shaddus stands over Doman's lifeless body, holding a heart container.
Doman was Ganondorf

Hailing from Gerudo Valley. You are the evil king Ganondorf.
A powerful sorcerer and practitioner of the dark arts. You wield the Triforce of power and with it you spread your influence across the realms. To the common folk, your power is comparable to that of a god. But eh, Link, Zelda and their pals still stomp your bushy red beard into the ground. The Brawl is an excellent chance for you to prove that you are in truth the strongest of them, and that you should wield all the triangles in the triforce. You have to wonder why Din lets you keep the piece, after all her oracle was kidnapped in Holodrum so that you could be resurrected. Ah well, let's save that question for later. While you may be an evil man, you are not among those who want to destroy the tournament.
You win with the Big Four. If they fall, you win with the rebels.
Your power is:
Warlock punch: Strike someone with a fist enhanced with black magic. This has a 50% chance to kill, and a 50% chance to K.O. the target. To use, at night send me a PM with "PUNCH: (person)".
Curse: Curse that Link. You despise him. At night, instead of punching you may attempt to curse someone. For most, this will do nothing, but if you find Link... To use, at night send me a PM with the message "CURSE (person)".

Anyway, headed to work. Be back in 8.

Ok..well, now we know the Villains are on our side so long as the Big Four survive.. but wtf, Shaddus. Why would you do something like that because of something in a previous game? I mean, obviously you're Samus, but why would you kill someone random just for kicks before anyone had a chance to really say anything?
Shiri2009-02-18 12:39:58
...wtf.
What the hell was that for, Shaddus?
Making the most of this
1. Well, ok, I guess that rules out the "villains are scum" idea. Unless there is no obvious scum and the rebels are a scum group with a weird-ass win condition...I mean, it's clearly possible Doman could have killed Arix during the night after the conclusion of last game, right?
2. Pikachu is not a girl, what
3. 3 groups that aren't the sub-group (kinda) have now been revealed: kids, loyalists and rebels. Estimating based on publically available numbers, there may be a fourth group depending on how big each of the other 3 are. At any rate, it looks like a significant proportion of the town will want the big 4 to survive.

Actually, what the hell? Revising the above guess: the rebels win with the big 4, but presumably Bowser, Jigglypuff (?) and Luigi will want to pwn their respective...guy...so I guess we do want the big 4 to keep quiet (I was beginning to wonder if it wasn't worth it to get themselves into the open and protected, but seemingly not.)
