Speaking of targets, if we have a protector, I'd say Shaddus might be a good target for that if our investigators can protect themselves, since someone with a daykill ability isn't really something the scum are going to want around.

Hm, so, we have:

Confirmed town:
Shiri - Snake
Furien - Zelda/Sheik?
Shaddus - Samus

Likely Town:
Noola

Wow.. that still leaves us with a whole lot of people to sort out.

I would rather have Noola protected on the basis that we can't tell whether Shaddus has more than that 1 kill in stock (and it's optimal for him to keep it secret to force the scum to whiff on it in case he DOES have multiple shots.) I mean, he got us some info, but if that was his only shot he's vanilla now. I'm invincible tonight but after that it becomes sketchy as the scum could get either Noola or I if the doctor's protecting the wrong one or if they decide to go for someone else. In fact, we might not even have a doctor (hmm, Dr. Mario was a character...), or they might be aligned in such a way that they don't want Noola, me or both protected, for example.

Anyway, I doubt everyone's even woken up yet, so this is already quite a lot of progress.

Dr. Mario wasn't a character in Brawl, they took him out.
Shiri2009-02-18 14:17:26
Oh, ok.
Furien2009-02-18 14:18:10
SAW's right- I'm Zelda/Sheik, hence the 'femme' group. Nayru's Love (skill) protects me from most attacks at day and night, so there's no need to worry about protecting me. Unless something goes wrong.

After all, who can possibly track someone who can TRANSFORM?

(Yes, I did that for the ninja value. Pardon me.)

Llandros smashes into the smashball, nearly breaking it and sending it towards Furien. Furien gives the ball a light poke, and the smashball breaks, enveloping her in energy.

Noola walks up to sandbag and performs a quick bow, before she headbutts Sandbag and sends him flying. She looks around, hoping for something interesting to happen, and an apple falls onto her head in a perfect demonstration of Newton's law.

Shiri takes a step backwards and suddenly disappears. All that remains is a non-descript cardboard box which is not suspicious in any way whatsoever.
Narsrim2009-02-18 14:36:26
Ok so... Smash Sandbag.
Kiradawea2009-02-18 14:42:40
Narsrim delivers a solid hit to Sandbag. A poison mushroom comes out, and before Narsrim can get away, he's shrunk to 1/7th of his original size.

Sandbag looks around himself, then shrugs. He'll stay around a little while longer.

As a heads up: something's about to happen, and if it's bad, I'm sorry.

Smashballs break open once a set amount of people hit them, and the opener gets to decide from two things:

#1- A random event of somesort that could have any effect.

#2- Use a special character power. In my case, it's the Arrows of Light, letting me daykill someone, but I'm not going to do that just yet. I'm pretty sure this is character-specific.

Now, pardon me, off to school.
Noola2009-02-18 14:46:38
I have an apple! Yay! laugh.gif Guess I've got a snack if I get hungry. happy.gif

As far as protection goes, I've only got a 50% chance of avoiding nightkills, but I'm immune to daykills. Also, my investigations are for names but according to my ability description I think sometimes I might turn up alignments and powers too.

Oh, you have protection inherently? That's not bad at all then, I guess any doctors we might have can protect other confirmed or likely townies.
Narsrim2009-02-18 14:51:28
It seems to me that a lot of people have immunities to either various situations or kills. I imagine, however, that there are people out there with an attack that perhaps overrides these general immunities. Ganadolf, for example, had a special attack that was Link-only. I assume that even with day/night immunities, it may have still worked.
Narsrim2009-02-18 14:54:57
Ok, poison mushrooms suck. Anyone have thoughts on sandbags/balls? It seems like they may be overall as harmful as helpful.

Both the first part and second part of that post are possible. The other possibility is that there isn't a doctor per se, and that the investigators are all tankier than normal because of the possibility the groups will factionalise. Also what is this "bad thing" Alianna's talking about?

Light arrows is the special attack for Zelda/Sheik, so I think it's pretty safe to say that is who Furien is. Even though it was already stated this is pretty solid confirmation.

Furien claims immunities, and he's Link. He's not an investigator. Therefore, I think it's probably going to be important to keep your "character" secret. Furien has some immunities. Noola has immunities. I have night time immunities. The only way anyone is going to reasonably be able to die is either by lynch or special attacks that override said immunities.

Also, for the record, I'm about as vanilla as is seemingly possible. My only power is to make somone's vote count twice.

What? I thought Furien was Sheik. Same game, totally different character.

Anyway...hrm. If it's that widespread, my guess would be one of two things. Either A), the scum all have kill-resistance-overriding, so they can actually do censor.gif in this game, or 2), the mod is expecting them to kill us with the vast amount of items and crap flying around here. On the plus side, with so many townies having kill resistance (there's probably at least 3 of the ones who've spoken no matter which way you look at it) of some kind, maybe the scum won't have any such things. I'm still annoyed that we whiffed twice on Nys last game, and once on Doman, and once on Arix. doh.gif
Diamondais2009-02-18 16:14:51
Okay, read the thread and all caught up. Don't have anything more to add than what's already been said right now.
Noola2009-02-18 16:16:38
Ok, so, it turns out that my apple (and any food) gives a 5% protection against getting killed. Foods are stackable, so if you have lots of food, you have lots of protection from being killed. It stacks with other protections too. So, I, for example, now have 55% nightkill protection with my natural 50% plus the apple.
