Alright, as it stands I'm leaning toward the Serenguard. Though, it would be insanely expensive since I would have to take up forging and likely get a mallet as I would not want to torture another forger with making my weapons.
Wrong. I don't know where people get this idea that to be a warrior you MUST take up forging. This is a fallacy. There are plenty of forgers out there, and even if you are going for that ever elusive "perfection", you can usually find someone else to forge for you, if you pay them enough. If you are willing to settle for very good, but not perfect, you'll save yourself a lot of hassle there too. Heck, I"m a bookbinder.

Yes, but taking forging would give me a reason to use the forge that is already in my manse. Also, I wouldn't feel bad about chaining some forger to the forge for years on end.

As I said after you ninja'd me, I would be looking for that 'perfection'. I am clinically insane for that sort of thing. I wouldn't want to torture someone else with that. And I already have the forge in my manse. It's like it was meant to happen.

Need to learn how to read... ignore this.

Whew, glad I don't have to then.

Yes, forging for me is not something I would wish on my enemies...
Narsrim2009-02-12 19:46:54
Why forge weapons when you can just pay for them? I spent 100cr on my tahto. It took weeks to forge... let's think this out:
If I can generate 20,000 gold per run through the Catacombs and buy credits at 5,000 gold each (perhaps not practical at the moment, but it was then)... 25 runs through the Catacombs would generate me 500,000 gold for 100 credits. On top of this, I get a decent chunk of experience, karma, offerings, blessings (if you do the quest), etc.
I also had one of the most ridiculous requests ever for a tahto... and I had multiple people forging each trying very hard to cash in my 100 credit offer.

Alright, I'm very heavily leaning SG. Is there any thoughts toward knight specializations? Right now I'm leaning toward taking Axelord.

Personally, I think Axelord sucks. The reason is because while it has a few good afflictions, they are very limb specific. As a result, if someone focuses on stancing legs and parrying head - you just can't do a whole lot else. The best warrior specializations, in my opinion, are those that have nice afflictions all over so you can bounce around as necessary to build wounding.
If I were going to go warrior, I'd take BM or BC. BM has a lot of potential now that rend has a chance to deliver a poison because pin leg + pin leg + rend + rend = 4 possible venoms. Pin leg is also sexy sexy sexy in group and it stacks with itself such that multiple BMs = multiple pin legs.
Bonecrusher is damn good too though.

Since pureblade wasn't even mentioned, do you think that they are bad as well?
Edit: i really don't know much about the specific specializations

I know alot of people have problems with it. Hoooo.
Desitrus2009-02-13 19:17:10
Pureblade isn't bad, you depend on tendon and slitlocks pretty much 100%, though.
Unknown2009-02-13 19:17:32
Not a knight either, but from what I've read it has nice afflictions and such, but nice systems and passive healing make it more of a pain.

Not to mention one of your main single strikes is curable by allheale.

Yeah, even on my old crappy system I had those lines triggered to just drink it. XD
