Using an Alt to enchant a cube for Wife/Guild's Shop.

Okay, or not Okay?

EDIT: Hasn't been done yet, I just want to know.
Edit Edit: To Clarfiy Its All Guild Profit, I Don't see any of it, nor does my Wife. I don't use the cube at the Shop, I have my own personal cube enchanted by other people

I wouldn't do it. Even though you don't "see" any of the profit, you still get acclaim and respect for helping the guild, and thus this activity affects your other character. While it seems to only be a tenuous violation, I tend to stay on the paranoid side of these things.

Not good, or advisable. Unless the alt also knows your wife, and has his own reasons for doing this: otherwise (from an in-character perspective) it makes no sense.

Hijack question: Would it be wrong if I wanted one of my alt to talk to another of my alt?

Here's a general rule.

If you have to ask, don't.

Now, IMHO, if your wife "Janalon" doesn't actually know it's your alt, and you happen to be on that alt when she asks for an enchanter and you respond, I don't think it's a violation.

But making an alt strictly for enchanting for her, or jumping on an alt to help her out is rather a no-no.

Only if they are both awake at the same time.

My Other Character is actually the older character. And happens to have Gloves <.<

This is impossible, because in order for this to happen both alts have to be logged in at the same time... which is called metagaming and violates terms of service.

Yea, I finally managed to find the helpfile for it. Its called multiplaying, and is not allowed. So sad. I've always wondered what would happen if I decided to talk to myself.

EDIT: Wait, what about via letters or messages? Is that OK?

Think about it this way: all of your alts do not exist for any other of your alts, unless there is a damned good reason for them to. Even then, don't.

The punishiments for alt transgressions are pretty nasty so I've always made sure my alts have nothing to do with each other and to even avoid having the alts interact at all with the same people. I don't even read the message boards on the alts if they are in a different guild or org to make sure that there isn't any cross over. With these issues it really is better to err on the side of caution.

If you happen to be logged onto CharacterBob doing your CharacterBob things and the wife of your other character, CharacterJoe asks for skills you can provide as CharacterBob over market, then I think it's ok.

If CharacterJoe's wife says to CharacterJoe, "Man, I wish someone was around who could do this." And you then log off CharacterJoe and log onto CharacterBob, simply to provide that service, then that is not ok.

That's how I'd see it anyway. Course, I could be totally wrong! laugh.gif

Fania sends messages to herself all the time, but never to her alts. I think you shouldn't contact your Alts in any way. You aren't supposed to know your alts personally, so why contact them as such.

I hate it when one character knows a little too much about their alts, and uses information they gathered on one character for role play reasons.

It could be worse - you could be like from Aetolia and be your own alt's grandfather.

That's kind of twisted.

In a text-incest sort of way.

So Futurama ish. It's like wanting your alt to be genetically stupid. I'd stay away from the Dekovens if I ever wanted wanted any of my alts to join a family.

That's one place where Lusternia can't claim precedence, really. In Lusternia we have people who are grandparents not to their alts but to themselves or their spouses.
