Well, everyone's saying about how Seals shouldn't be free cubixes. I have a few ideas:
Harmony:
Once a RL day(or IG month, whichever they use), you can reset a denizen back to laidback.
Can move more rooms before getting hasty message.
Knowledge:
Once a RL day, you can empower your nexus. This doubles all player-added power for an hour.
Once a RL day, you get a free Teacher tarot ability (last longer?). Stacks with Teacher Tarot.
Chaos:
Summon random hamster as pet. Chance to summon Squibbles or Purple Hamster of Chaos as well.
Have a random chance to summon the Hand of Tzaraziko. Wearable. Cures insanity by one level when activated.
Nature:
Once a RL day, you can make a room outdoors and natural.
You can set a pathstone. Basically, the same as a milestone.
Can transverse to Ethereal from anywhere on Prime or Elemental.
Beauty:
A free customisation. And a free non-decay and resetting so that it doesn't get lost.
Instead of 'a sinuous illithoid' in their description when you look at them, you see 'a radiant illithoid'. That way, doesn't mess with Sealbearers of Beauty who want to be physically ugly. The radiance is their inner beauty shining through.
Justice:
Reduce parley costs, and increase chances of getting full reprieves for amnesty.
Acts as a Great Rune of Mind Shielding
War:
Increase crit rate by a small amount.
A tiny axe floats and follows you around.
Acts as a Great Rune of Dominion
Life:
Meh. Dionamus is boring.
Done.
Death:
Consume a mob's corpse and create an undead underling which follows you around. Until it decays and falls apart, that is.
Acts as an infinite Catacombs tarot.
(Note that just because they're under a seal, doesn't mean that I feel they should get all. Hopefully, a combination of the ideas might provide a balance among the seals.)
-------------------------------------------------------------
Paranoia. It does nothing. It's intended use, to prevent mobs from advancing quests, is a rather rude thing to do, along the lines of killing quest mobs. The only other influencing type which sees almost as little use is weakening, but at least they've incorporated it into quests, such as the Glomdoring's side of gathering fae. I think it would be kinda hard to incorporate an influence type which stops quest progression into a quest.
So far, influencers tap on pride (empower), guilt (charity), love/lust (seduction) and fear (weakening). In fact, paranoia also taps on the fear of the mobs, which means that we have two very similar influence attack types. Hence, I'm suggesting an alternate influence type. I have a couple of ideas.
Soothe. It would allow you to influence aggressive mobs, as well as making you immune to other aggressive mobs while influencing with it. Does not affect personal and org loyals. In addition, if you are enemied to whatever you influence, assuming that it is sentient, you would have a low chance of adding 1 month reprieve, which stacks with amnesty. Discuss if stacking with itself would be OP or not.
Empathy. Each sentient mob that you manage to convince to empathise with you will give your org power. It could be a small chance or could be 1 power for every X mobs you manage to convince to empathise with you. I just want some way to be able to consistently gain power as an influencer, other than influence fae/angel/demons. I mean, what do I do when I've gotten all the fae? And all the fae added up give just 54 power. Bashers can go to the elemental planes, or go to Astral or wildnodes, while aethership people can apparently do Xion or something.
Haggle. Obvious as to what it does. And I've always equated charisma stats in game to discounts. Don't they have something like that in erm, rogue-like games or something? Sadly, not many NPC shops. Obviously wouldn't work with the artifacts sellers. Making it work with player shops wouldn't make much difference.
I really really wanted something along the lines of enrage influence, or something like incite, but nothing I thought of would be better than paranoia. I really want to be able to incite crowds ingame though.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Nightwraiths. Could you pleeeeeeease replace cone with penumbra? Allow us Night users to perform Penumbra without needed three people? I'd still ask if anyone wants it, but for the times when there is no one else to perform it with, pleeeeeeease let us Night-using Nightwraiths do one-man Penumbras. I'm addicted to the age-changing factor of Penumbra. So, pretty pretty please with a cherry on top?

Estarra seems to think the effort involved is worth free cubixes, but the original idea (which was shot down as OP, ha) for the seals was permanent karma blessings.
Rather than cone, it would be gloomtide being replaced with penumbra.

I know the original idea was to have the permanent karma blessing. But that's so boring. Free cubixes are just as boring, and far too OP.
And as for the gloomtide thing, really? I could have sworn I saw cone. No matter, gloomtide or cone, no difference. I want to put up my awesome defence (the most awesome one in the entire game) without having to ask for people.

Cone is there too, it's just shared by both communes, so replacing it would break up the symmetry.
Rika2009-03-01 18:34:09
I still don't get why perma karma blessings is OP.
Perma karma blessing or 2.6k artifact? HMMM!
Oh yeah. Cone > Penumbra. Don't be selfish.

Gwylifar2009-03-01 19:01:31
That's the point, it seemed OP, then it got dropped and what was put in its place was even OPer.

No thanks!

Well you have to remember that the winner of the Death Seal does not necessarily like undead. Like if a Celestian won the Death Seal or a Seren, then they won't necessarily want to have the ability to create undead that follows you around.
Well on second thought I guess they could get like double experience by killing something then creating undead then killing that.

Ehh... they've valued the things at 3000 credits. If they give you 3000 credits and then make the thing do small stuff, I don't think you'd object TOO much.
Unknown2009-03-01 22:32:38
Wait, I can get 3000 credits for my Medallion?

You get 2000 for it. It's valued at 3000, but you get 2/3 of that back on a normal tradein.
But hey, if they want to give me 3000 for mine and an extra 1000 for the one I traded in...
Unknown2009-03-01 22:41:49
Eh, it's not like I'd ever trade it in. A cubix is a very nice thing to have (helps me with all my hit-and-run raids, after all) and I've tried to incorporate the Knowledge Seal into Hallen's roleplay. Still good to know!

Oh sure, bash Astral solo versus having to find two people just to put up a defence?
As for Gloomtide, well, if you're raiding, you might as well find 4 more people to go with you.
As for all the comments on the Seals, yea, but everyone is complaining about how Seals are OP, they should do utility/RP things, but no one suggested anything (or at least, I couldn't find any). I just thought that this would get the ball rolling. I mean, if you have cool ideas for the Seals, post them! I started out with just ideas for Harmony and Chaos seals. The rest took more time to come up with. So maybe you don't have ideas for all the seals. I don't either, so just post more ideas!
Narsrim2009-03-02 01:45:13
My only qualm about the medallions is that I feel mildly cheated by Estarra/Roark. I paid $600 for my cubix. I don't mind medallions being akin to my cubix; however, it irks me that the medallion is -better- than my cubix granting access to a better location with more exits.
If anything, the people who invested real money should be getting the better deal. Owning a medallion makes a cubix obsolete. Owning a cubix does -not- make a medallion obsolete. I think that's silly.

Nightaltar: (Built)
TOUCH - Gives the nightwraith aura for 10 power.
Nightwraith aura allows TELEPORT NIGHT from prime/ethereal/astral.
Nightwraith aura allows TOUCH GLASS transport from Shadow Glass to Night Altar.
Night users with Cone can do the spell individually.
Night users will gather 2 shadows instead of 1.
Nightwraiths can SHADOWDANCE GARB to protect from magic and poison damage.
Can join covens but will not count for Terror Covens.
Level 2 Regeneration for Nightwraiths at night.
+1 Dexterity for Nightwraiths.
Hrm. No mention anywhere of Gloomtide. Pleeeeeease change cone to penumbra? Or add penumbra to the one person can perform list? Please?

I'd rather remove the +1 Dexterity or, most probably, the 2-shadow gathering. You could also replace SHADOWDANCE GARB with Penumbra, but that way we'll be cheating the rest of the commune, if the Penumbra is made to be only-Night users.
Unknown2009-03-02 11:33:26
I don't think you'll get it. Harvest is the 'equivalent' of Penumbra (requires a group, takes power), and that definitely will not be changed so one person can use it. I would not keep your hopes up, Caerulo.

Why not? It doesn't really need to be perfectly identical between the two constructs. Nightwraith have the 2 shadows instead of one thing. Is there an equivalent for Moonchildes?
Rika2009-03-03 03:56:09
Again. Don't be selfish. Easy one weighted charisma (not like it's that much harder now) is worse than having easy one person coning.

If I had the ability, I'd change it so that SHADOWDANCE GARB would give added protection to Night users, or give everyone Shadowdance Flight, with it costing less power for Night users.
EDIT: Cone will stay the way it is, as it should. One-Man Penumbra = no. You have the +Dex instead of +Cha due to Penumbra. It's why Seren has +Cha on Moon Altar.
