I'm of the 'sit-and-watch' style too, and see how much I posted this round! I don't even post that much in big games, though it's not even close to yours. tongue.gif

I was sure that Rika was scum after reading the other game and their head demon got lynched, but I didn't know how much of it was similar and whether that could be used as a reason. Next time we have two games running at the same time, they need to have different compositions/themes!
Unknown2009-03-14 13:24:15
Actually, I was going to suggest that two different people host two different games, so no confusion/metagaming occurs.
Shiri2009-03-14 13:38:00
One at a time is probably best.
Zynna2009-03-14 14:25:57
It was a lot of fun! I enjoyed playing with all of you!

The funny thing was that I really had chosen to investigate Rika the first night, which was when I learned she was a demon and that now I was too!

Ayisdra2009-03-14 15:17:51
I wasn't 'converted' per se, I was a demon. Although no one knew I existed.

When I knew Rika was scum for sure and that the town was going to lynch me regardless of what I claimed, I started reading the other game and when I saw Narsrim claim the exact same thing I did a face palm smack, I even talked to Arix briefly at the night when I thought I was out and mentioned the exact same thing had happened in the other game.
Rika2009-03-14 19:21:17
And that is why it is a bad idea to mod two games at once. Even worse idea to mod two games at once with similar roles.

"I told you so." tongue.gif

Edit: Narsrim is such a copy.

No, really... :/
Oh well, at least I was right in everything that I thought. Couldn't imagine things I didn't know though...

Meh, very poor number ratio setup, imho, made this a rather silly game. Mafia should always be outnumbered by the civs, especially when they have lots of powers and MOST especially when they have the ability to recruit - also the recruiting should stick with one person, not grow exponentially as their cult does.

Thanks for putting it on for us, though. smile.gif

Also, I don't really understand the Lusternia forums adoration for Mafia games where you don't know the rules or the framework beforehand. It makes for a completely different gameplay, favoring chance and randomness far more than logic, trickery and scheming.

It's more like we keep getting mods that do this.

Anyway, I wouldn't say that not knowing the framework ALWAYS leads to this, but the changes from the formula generally have to be small to be predictable.
Rika2009-03-15 01:45:55
I keep saying. Less is more!

"Do what I say, not what I do"? tongue.gif You had two cults, one of them being a leader that took over from the first, "issues" every day to do with subjects people couldn't really predict like nuclear armament and the security council, etc...

EDIT: Incidentally, I just want to say this now: I have never seen items of any kind work satisfactorily yet

Yeah, I learnt the lesson after that game. tongue.gif

So Shiri, when do we get to play your awesome mafia game?

EDIT: Yes Caerulo I really did. At one point I was tempted to message Dag on Lusty and ask to be replaced, but I knew my replacement would be immediately harassed for a claim and I didn't want to do that to someone
Daganev2009-03-15 03:35:10
I'll post everything when the other game is over.

It's really quite lame. How hard was it to lynch me when people could use what was happening in your game to figure it out in mine.
Unknown2009-03-15 04:53:09
No, no. You were lynched FIRST.

We were just so awesome that we persuaded the townies to lynch diamondais instead of rika.
Furien2009-03-15 05:01:50
If by that you mean 'manipulate everyone not thinking about what the hell they're doing' and 'pushing an oddly influencable Ayisdra', yeah.
Unknown2009-03-15 05:07:09
Well, it was looking preetty grim when I went to sleep. Was 4 votes against 4. The four votes against diamondais was just us scum.

If Ayisdra was actually demon and counted for win condition, we should have won at the very start of day 3.
Arix2009-03-15 11:17:54
I would like to state for the record that I did not read the other thread until after the game I was in had ended. And even then I got two pages in and lost interest
