Still would like more information on Doman, despite Enero's belated and Caerulo-finger-pointy entrance.
Daganev2009-03-05 16:51:48
fubar ?
Unknown2009-03-05 16:52:32
From Doman, rather. About humans or their general role in the game thereof.

As I'm starting to not make much sense, I'll stop and be off to bed!

EDIT: Removed due to not seeing the huge and bold text about not quoting the mod. Do forgive my noobishnesnesness

I'm just giving a small heads up, early tomorrow morning I'll be leaving for Chicago for the weekend. I will have my laptop with me, so I can probably check in in the mornings and at the end of the day but don't expect me too much during the EST day time.
Ayisdra2009-03-05 22:01:23
Until Doman posts something, I don't think we are going to get anywhere.

Also I might not be on for most of the day tomorrow,Friday, due to a family issue.
Furien2009-03-05 22:15:22
Well, we're going to have to off someone...
Doman2009-03-05 22:46:05
Well, since everyone seems to want info from me so bad, fine. I'm a human. COMPLETELY vanilla, I honestly thought that it just meant my role was vanilla. I win when the demons are gone, but apparantly, there's also vanilla angels.
Unknown2009-03-06 02:21:59
Okay, that's much better. Erm, will think over it, but for now, Unvote: Doman

Just curious, but could you elaborate on humans fit into the scheme, flavour-wise? From the introduction:

QUOTE
The loud voice of Akhazriel returns to you: "The lord has grown tired of the failure of humans to withstand the attacks of the demons. As you remember He opened up the gates of heaven and sent myriads upon myriads of angels down to earth.

QUOTE
The voice of Akhazriel comes back: "The Angels and Demons have come to a stalemate, the demons must have infiltrated the halls of the Angels causing paralysis in the battlefield. You must find these demons and send them back to Hell!

In every hollywood movie when there is some demonic prophecy, or the demons try to take over or whatever (Spawn, Seven, Dogma, etc take your pick of story) The plot seems to revolve around one special human or another who saves the day through some sort of personal crisis of faith/purpose. However, all the miracles and magic that the demons can do to mess everythig up or change the prophecy never seem to be coupled with miracles and magics from angels trying to stop the plan. I've always found this plotline silly, and was trying to mock it in some subtle way.

Don't take too much from the flavor. This is above all a mafia game, not a story line.

Umm Caerulo, I have you voting for Furien right now... did you mean to unvote Furien or did I miss you voting for Doman?
Unknown2009-03-06 03:26:36
You missed me voting for Doman.
Daganev2009-03-06 03:28:09
well then.. updated!
Unknown2009-03-06 04:31:41
I was actually trying to see if there were any other insights Doman can shed on the topic, but a response from the mod isn't bad! Thanks for clearing that up, will ponder the implications after my lecture/general panicking/midterm, in that order.
Rika2009-03-06 05:12:29
Okay. I find it weird that there are both vanilla angels and vanilla humans...
Enero2009-03-06 05:40:07
So... how come Silferras is quoting the mod from the first page? That's what I quoted and removed afterwards... Just wanted to quote it to make my speculation that humans are like condoms in 60s. They exist, but hey, who the censor.gif cares. Now pass me back my joint!
Unknown2009-03-06 10:04:26
I was under the impression that the 'no quoting of the mod' rules only govern the verbatim quoting of mod PMs, not posts. I've quoted the introduction twice already, but no modly hand has descended to squish me, so...

Any thoughts on daganev's little explanation above? A vanilla human is possible given his intent to mock said plotlines, but the existence of vanilla angels AND vanilla humans both with the same win condition seems a little weird to me. I'd think that it would be more logical to have vanillas be human if that were the case and angels the ones with powers, which also corresponds with the mod-elaboration.
Unknown2009-03-06 10:15:28
I've given my entire role as close as I could get without quoting the PM. If I'm not wrong (and metagaming here a little), Daganev was a little peeved at the sheer amount of powers given to town the previous game. He also mentioned that he'd rather a game be played due to psychoanalysis rather than pure superpowers.

Also, we knew nothing about the existence of humans, until Doman revealed it. For that matter, why are there even humans in the Hall of Angels? Why would the humans would win when the demons are gone?

And as I said before, my role mentions the fact that at least I'm more useful than humans. I don't know what that means, and initially, I thought that it was just flavour, as I didn't expect the existence of humans. Now I'm not sure what that line means.

This. But your role mentions humans too?

Doman's claims have also been bothering me, though I don't know if I'm just reading too much into it. Will try to pinpoint the reason and post my thoughts when I get home, if they turn out productive.
Furien2009-03-06 14:32:24
My role doesn't mention humans anywhere. I also don't see what would prompt a vanilla, or anyone for that matter, to just openly claim, unless you follow the thought that:

1. Claim now with little suspicion and make everyone confused but generally accepting.
2. Claim when you're two votes from being lynched, only to find that everyone thinks you're full of BS.

Vote: Doman
