I'm in need of a curing system, I'd code my own but I'm god awful at coding. Does someone make a commercial system for Lusternia? I play a Glomdorian Wiccan if that narrows it down any.

What client do you use? If you use Nexus, good luck finding a system. But if you use MUSHclient or Zmud, you'll find posted on the forums in the Mechanics area a few systems, some of which are even free. The ones you pay for aren't really expensive either. The ones I can name off the top of my head are Treant, Avante Garde, and Palisade, but there are others too. I'd check there.

Looks like I finally have an excuse to by Zmud. Thank you!

I don't know if there are actually any free zmud systems. There is a free cmud system though.

Is one better than the other? I've played Achaea for 3 years, always used Nexus. Never been big into combat but I've been told to change clients a few times, never saw a reason to.

Both zmud and cmud are created by the same guy. However, cmud is the newer product and is the one currently supported and being updated. Zmud is still a solid client though.

If you want to save on money, MUSHclient is free, and, from what coders tell me, is a very open system that is easy to code in (even I've gotten a few things to work). But, because it is so open, it doesn't come with all of the fancy stuff Zmud comes with, though much of it can be added in. Two of the three systems I named off are for MUSHclient (Catarin, did you have one for MUSH too?).
When it comes to clients and combat, understand that those who have played both Achaea and Lusternia generally agree that Lusternia combat is much more complex. You'll find people that do manual curing on Nexus, but they are few that can do it effectively, and they have put a TON of work into it. Nexus just isn't built to handle top tier combat because it is cumbersome to code in. Hence why most combatants use either MUSHclient, Zmud, or Cmud. If you want to really get into combat, those are your best choices.

Who says mushclient is easy to code in?
Chade2009-02-22 07:23:17
I code better in MUSH after using it for two months than I did in zMud after using it for 8 years

That'll link you to Ethelon's Avant-Garde system with a bunch of nice info on it and prices. It has great support and comes highly recommended if you're gonna be using MUSHclient.

MUSHclient isn't quite as user friendly, only because the user interface can be a bit cluttered and it hasn't been updated in about a decade, but it is much faster and more powerful than either zMUD or CMUD in my opinion. ... Plus, it is free, so there's no real risk in giving it a try.

Thoros has a zmud system which is awesome and I reviewed Ethelon's system updates and it seems he fixed everything that was a problem. I recommend those two.

You should keep this in mind. Zarquan sells a System for Cmud, so he's a bit biased.
Just kidding, Zarquan is pretty cool.
Personally, I use Ethelon's on Mush. Easy to use, lots of bells and whistles, kick-ass customer support, frequent updates, plugins for herbs, forging, autodefense and more. And 25 credits for the system/10 credits for plugins is WAY cheaper than some I've seen for Aetolia/Achaea.

It seems you're either misinformed or you've misspoken. I have nothing for CMUD. I have a free system available for MUSHclient (as per my signature), and only charge for a few add-ons and for support.
Still, I don't push my system on anyone who doesn't want to try it. If you go with someone else's system, it makes no difference to me, though I am happy to support those who support me.

Maybe I am thinking of Catarins, though I thought yours was for Zmud or Cmud. My mistake.

I'm going to have to plug Zarquan here. My suggestion if money is an issue (and even if it isn't), try MUSHclient and give Treant a try. Treant = free and a good system at that.
Zarquan's knowledgable, has been around for awhile, and is damn good with his customer support (from what I've seen so far and heard).
If you still want to try something else, download the free trial of Cmud and give Catarin's system a try. Like Treant, it's also free and really good. But, once your trial on Cmud runs out, you'll have to buy it.
They both charge a few credits (can't remember how many) for customer support, but they're both willing to answer basic questions that you may have without that fee.
