(( the impatience is strong with Tsuujin ))

Tsuujin finds himself safely on the other side of the archway, walking into the middle of the courtyard. Everything remains as it was, though no entrance into the outpost can be readily seen.

((Anyone who crosses over into the courtyard can make another Perception Check to look for the entrance.))

((
Perception Check. (1d20+1=5)
Invisible Castle doesn't think I'm all too aware of my surroundings.

((laugh.gif yeah.. at this point you've seen a butterfly and are too fascinated to divert your attention. tongue.gif))
Unknown2009-03-11 18:22:47
Aesamar begins to peer more closely at the flagstones hey are approaching. Deciding caution would be the best policy he takes a step towards the archway, and appears on the other side without having visibly crossed the intervening space. "I would advise that all who can do that do so follow my example, or assist those who can't. Just... a feeling."
Daganev2009-03-11 19:04:03
((I'm a bit confused, do we have to walk through the archway or can we walk around it?))

"So," Tsuujin states as he looks around, a bit confused, "What exactly does that napkin say about what to do next? All I see is a courtyard and, to us, a dead end."

((I'll let you climb the wall with a DC15 Acrobatics or Athletics check if you really want to, but the wall is still in good enough condition that there are no walkable holes.))
Unknown2009-03-11 20:03:35
((Daganev, can you use that Telekinetic Leap power here? Is it a Githyanki ability or something?))
Unknown2009-03-11 20:06:39
((That's also a possiblity. He can use it every 5 minutes or so, so if you wanted to, with some resting he could transport the last few people over the wall one at a time.))
Unknown2009-03-11 20:34:37
((I completely missed all the posts between receiving the results of my check and entering the courtyard...))

Now that he is in the courtyard, Aesamar peers carefully around what remains of the walls, looking for a way forward.

((Perception check(1d20+7=24)))
((tongue.gif at Isuka))

((I was wondering. Since you didn't make a perception check and seemed awfully nervous about the arch even after Tsuujin walked right through it. tongue.gif))

Aesamar, after watching Tsuujin look around helplessly for a short time, decides that perhaps he should lend his eyes to the search.

After a short walk around the courtyard, the eladrin stops. noticing that something is off about the ground he's standing on in the center of the courtyard--something about the stones and how his feet hit them.

Backing up immediately, his presses his back against the wall opposite the dwarven arch, where, as luck would have it, he finds himself next to a rather large pile of rubble that catches his eye. They seem to be placed there by sentient creatures rather than the happenstance of gravity. One seems to have been set poorly, however, and the wizard catches a glimpse of an open space behind the rubble.
Unknown2009-03-11 21:00:33
((Actually, I edited the above post. You discover the trap and the entrance, rather than just the entrance..))
Unknown2009-03-11 21:10:18
From his position across the courtyard, Aesamar calls to his companions through the archway. "I was wrong. The arch is safe, but keep to the edges of the courtyard. I think the way through is beyond this rubble." He eyes the rocks, looking for a way to get through.

((What's the best way of getting through here? Is it just difficult terrain, or should the high-strength characters lift the rocks? They're probably too heavy for me to lift with Mage Hand, although a Thunderwave might clear them. I don't know what powers like that can and cannot do.))
Daganev2009-03-11 22:09:35
((oh telekentic leap is once every 5 minutes? some reason I thought it was once a day or something))

Ralzik leaps across the courtyard to stand next to Aesamar and helps make way into the entrance.

within 20 minutes, everyone who hasn't made there way over to the pile of rocks, finds themselves flying towards Ralzik and the entrance.

((Thunderwave would definitely accomplish it, but so could Dag's Telekinetic Leap, so really, as could you guys with just a little teamwork. We'll just say that you manage to clear the rubble, since goblins are capable of it, after all.))

Clearing away the false stones, the group finds a shaft descending roughly twenty feet, a crude ladder attached to the side of the wall. At the base of the shaft looks to be a chamber with no other obvious way out other than the very entrance Aesamar discovered.
Daganev2009-03-11 22:19:23
((can I see in the dark?))
Daganev2009-03-11 22:22:55
Ralzik turns to Aesamar and says , "perhaps you should throw one of those firey globes of yours down there?"
Unknown2009-03-11 22:42:59
"Given that I doubt so much adventurer-scented charcoal would be capable of even taking out a goblin, I think a better idea would be to..." He touches his orb through the silken web at his belt and closes his eyes briefly. The orb suddenly flares into life, releasing bright light that bobs and sways gently as the eladrin moves.

"I can renew the spell when I need to, but if we meet company down there, it would be significantly easier if anyone has a sunrod or a torch. However, this should suffice for now." With this, he gingerly puts his weight on the rickety ladder and begins to descend the shaft.

((Can we assume I'll be recasting the Light spell whenever its five minutes are up?))

((Dag: Nope, you just have normal vision
Ytraelux: Yeah. If it becomes an issue, I'll ask specifically if you want to recast. ))

As Aesamar reaches the bottom of the shaft, he finds himself in a small chamber with no visible exits. However, it only takes him a moment to discern a small, hidden door in the western wall.
