Was just thinking it would be useful if we get down there and we have to fight the Ogre.....
If there's any kind of cover I can duck in/out of it and throw it... magic weapons automatically return to your hand, and it would give me +2 or 3 damage I think

((It depends on the circumstance. You have a hobgoblin soldier here who is much more afraid of his master than he is of you. Yes, you could (and will, and were going to anyway) kill him. His master is a necromancer who is working to raise someone they believe to be a god.
Tell me.. is one death as scary as what that duo could accomplish if he was to betray them?))

Zorga quickly leaps over to her fellows aid, driving her shortsword home under the hobgoblins ribcage. With a sickening twist, she withdraws it and lets the body fall to the ground, muttering a curse of disgust beneath her breath. "Are you ok?" she asks the warlock, before wiping her blade off on the warriors corpse.

Err... and I never asked... is the player initiative important? Like should i wait for Aesamar and Kuro to go... or is swapping around (as long as there isn't a NPC move between) allowed?

((Aaand that's the combat. Congradulations, everybody! When you guys are ready to head down the stairs, just give me a !ready))
Daganev2009-03-27 20:04:12
Coming out of the fountain with a look of frustration on his face, Ralzik says "If that hobgoblin wasn't lying about what is down stairs, we should probably take a good rest so we are at our full strength..."
Isuka2009-03-27 20:22:24
Tsuujin slumps down against the fountain, and breathes deeply. He looks half dead.
He pulls the dagger from his pack and throws it to Zorga. "I've got no energy left. Hang onto that for me, and make sure noone else gets ahold of it, Rogue."

"I'm going to have to agree with the warlock," Aesamar says, kneeling down to examine the teleportation disc. "We should keep a watch on rotation, in case the goblins decide to attack. I can take an hour or at either end, and each of you can take one of the hours in between." Taking the opportunity that he missed with the last disc, Aesamar examines the disc both physically and magically, and wracks his memories for any mention of such a device that he may have heard, be it from history or folklore.
((Arcana, History, Religion and Perception checks on the disc. (1d20+12=17, 1d20+12=17, 1d20+10=26, 1d20+8=20)))
((EDIT: just realised that if we're taking turns to watch as well, the rest will take 7 hours rather than six. As an eladrin, I only need four hours sleep, so I can take one hour's watch at one end and two hours at the other. If everyone else keeps watch for one hour each in the middle, you'll all get your 6 hours.))

Unknown2009-03-27 20:40:05
Taking a second look at the disk, Aesamar begins to recall something. It was said that the dwarves to whom this kingdom once belonged had the incredible ability to travel across great distances in the blink of an eye. They had various mining colonies across the land, and were able to transport their finds without the need for dangerous caravans and the like.
Isuka2009-03-27 20:40:07
"I don't mean to sound rude, and trust me when I say that I'd love to sit here and rest for a while... but we just threw a goblin down those stairs to it's death. They probably know we're here. I think we should press forward."
Unknown2009-03-27 20:43:50
"That's exactly the point of keeping watch. If they do attack, the watcher can wake the rest of us. Besides, especially with you in your present state, trying to storm a goblin nest is probably the height of recklessness."
Daganev2009-03-27 20:44:05
"Then let them come, we can be better positioned here with the choke points, and they might realize that and not bother us. I'd feel much safer if I was able to rest for a few hours."
edit:
"I'm going to rest right were I am. Wake me in 6 hours, and I'll stand watch." And with that, Ralzik goes about making a place for him to rest between the wall and the fountain. !ready

Isuka2009-03-27 20:46:44
"The less time they have to prepare for us, the happier I am. Unless someone else is willing to the the first one to walk into a well laid trap?"
Daganev2009-03-27 20:50:57
Allready half asleep Ralzik says "We can just drop one of those clouds of ice and daggers down the pit to the bottom. We have the height advantage here." He then shifts again to get more comfortable.
Unknown2009-03-27 20:58:30
As his companions settle down to sleep, Aesamar settles down, cross-legged, at the top of the staircase, keeping a close eye on the space below.
((Perception Check for my two hours of watch duty. (1d20+8=20) Zahar seems to be checking the thread fairly often, so he can roll next, I guess.))
