(( how does a level 3 anything get 230 hp? ))
((Oh and be sure to spread out! tongue.gif ))

((Well bloody done, Daganev. Saw, what ability do we have to run the hell away?))

((Well, the stairs you came down are an option, I just didn't put them on the map. But you can run--though doing so while blind would be hazardous. Just say that the stairs start in the top left corner of the room, and on the first turn you're not blind you can head up them...

Actually, if you want to make a DC 15 Perception Check (at -5 due to being blind) you can run up them while blind as well.

However, chances are, if you don't leave the dagger behind, he'll chase you guys.))

He's a Solo. Basically meant to be the equivalent of a whole group of level 3 monsters. Basically, he alone is worth about the same XP as the last fight you guys had.

"Shaman, with the notable exception of my Colleague, we do not mean you harm. If we leave the horn totem, will you agree to talk with us, or let us leave unharmed, at the very least." As he calls these words, Aesamar stumbles back towards the stairs down which they came, but doesn't try to go much futher, awaiting both the goblin's reply and the return of his vision.

((Move to F19))
((Diplomacy check for Sancossug, if needed (1d20+1=14) Probably failed that. If he's not too pissed off, you could have a go, Gae.))
Unknown2009-03-29 21:08:03
((Speaking is a free action by the way, and once you make your action, consider your vision returned.))

The high shaman hisses at the eladrin's words. "The horn and this one's life," he says, pointing a gnarled finger at the githyanki.
Daganev2009-03-29 21:09:19
((why in the world would you leave the dagger behind??)) edit: ((let me rephrase, why could a good charachter leave the dagger behind and allow him to ressurect the orgre king? ))
((btw, if we plan this properly, we can probabbly defeat him in 5 rounds))

((Also can you explain the surprise round rules? I'm just curious cause in dnd3.5, if we attack during the surprise round, we all get a turn before the mobs get to go, so I'm just curious about that. ))
Isuka2009-03-29 21:22:59
(( There's one of him and five of us. Lets just kill him and be done with it, I don't think we're getting out of this fight without giving up the dagger. ))

((If everyone surprised him, then they'd all get the action, however everyone else was attempting diplomacy, so they weren't all in the position to jump in. On top of that, a surprise round is only one action. So what you did wasn't technically a surprise round. Once you started running, that would have been the surprise round. Also, he was on edge and expecting a fight. I mean, you did throw a dead hexer down outside his ritual chamber.))
Unknown2009-03-29 21:34:20
((Since you ask, Dag, I was more thinking of giving him what he wants, questioning him, and then killing him or sabotaging his efforts. Like I said, corpses are useless.))
((I can make as many free actions as I like, right?))

"Shaman, however much I share your dislike for the githyanki, I am disinclined to let him perish. Tell me of this Ogre King of yours, and explain exactly what you need the totem for. I am an accomplished mage, I might be able to assist you in some way."

((@Daganev: Not being serious about helping him. Aiming for sabotage. Subtlety.))
Unknown2009-03-29 21:42:18
((I'm going to wait til other people act before I have the shaman answer you, however))

((Oh, so a surprise round is only 1 action? is it one anything? like one action, or one minor action, or one move action? Or could it be two minor actions? ))

edit: ((I'm really confused about this surprise round thing again.. but maybe you can explain it after the battle is over))

((A surprise round is one action. So, one minor, or one move, or one standard. You get a surprise round in situations like sneaking up one someone, or if they sneak up on you. And then once the surprise round is over, you go to normal initiative. In this case, however, you didn't really get a surprise round, because he could see you standing right there and he was prepared for the fight.))

The dragonborn stumbles back, her hand moving up to her face. She fumbles forwards, trying to use the walls as temporary respite from the very angry greenskin.

((
Move to E23
Stealth Check (1d20+9=25)

Lets try to calm this bugger down... I can give him the horn totem, we can talk to him, see whats up, and if he's really going to raise the ogre king we can attack him -after- we get into a little bit better position eh?
))
Isuka2009-03-30 04:35:09
(( we have no idea what it actually takes to summon the ogre king. For all we know, he's on the final rites of the summoning, and all he needs left is to hold the dagger and say something to finish. I would highly suggest not giving him anything and getting to combat if that's our intention. ))

I guess for everyone to make their turns.....

((Okay.. then you could have made an IC post to that degree, like Ytraelux and Zahar did. That way I actually know what it is you're doing. tongue.gif Since combat is technically started, I can't move on until all your turns are accounted for. But now I can.))
