Seeing the dire circumstances that her ally was in, Kuro moved closer and sent a burst of healing energy towards Aesamar, before retreating.

Drawing strength from the dragonborn's words, Aesamar hauls himself to his feet, using the edge of the sarcophagus to support himself. Before the goblin can strike again, he whispers a word of power, and slips in an instant around the shaman, down the passageway, and across the cavern towards the stairs.

As Tsuujin dashes headlong up the stairs, he is paying complete attention to watching his step and not being caught by the raging goblin Shaman. In his haste, the fighter runs full-on into a very sturdy obstacle.

"Going somewhere?" asks the familiar elf. "The wizard said you lot might be in trouble when you didn't return."

The sound of the screaming Sancossug below causes the ranger's brow to arch. "I see," he says, notching an arrow in his bow. He gives a quiet whistle and a group of patrolmen behind him slink past and into the chamber below.

"Come on," Harrowleaf yells, "we'll cover you." The ranger quickly fires two arrows at the Shaman to make his point, one slicing through the goblin's robes, the other catching him full in the shoulder as the party retreats.

((Combat is essentially over at this point, so no need to worry about coords or initiative.))

Tsuujin grabs the Elf by the shoulder and thanks him, before taking the time to heal himself.

"By the way, it doesn't seem that the shaman down there actually ever had the ability to summon the Ogre King. Put him out of his delusional misery for me."

Harrowleaf smirks. "I tried to tell you that," he says, referring to his comment to the githyanki, "but your friend didn't want to listen." Meanwhile he looses another arrow and sends the Shaman scampering in a different direction, away from the retreating adventurers.

((Btw, the amusing part of all this is that, even though it seemed to be XP driving Dag's choice.. you guys would have gotten more by negotiating. The shaman is worth 750 as a combat encounter, so 750 divided by 5. As a diplomatic encounter, he's worth 250 to each of you, so a total of 1250.))

Tearing his eyes away from the guards as they fight against the shaman, Aesamar turns to Captain Harrowleaf: "By the way, did you manage to find anything more on the Lady of Shadows?"
