Oh man. Irony.

Then I have to ask:

Mage vs. Druid, which is harder to deal with?

I love these threads almost as much as I love 'WHO ARE THE TOP 10 BEST FIGHTERS IN (game) EVER'.

In demesne? Druids are FAR more annoying. Outside? Druids can fight outside?

I'm going to make one of those threads now. Just because you said that.

Eh, I'll do it later on...eventually...never.
Dai2009-03-02 19:28:02
So very pointless.

Yeah, I have to agree completely... Stands no where near your constructive reply.

Might as well enjoy ourselves, it's not like this thread is going anywhere.

In that case Hairy Pothead... err... Harry Potter will own you all!

My money is on Freddie Mercury for this fight.

Great, now I feel inclined to make my own contribution to the degradation of this topic. Here, though I'm sure most of you have seen it all anyways.

I think you are all answering the poll wrong. You need to go to the website and see which guild has the highest concentration of Igasho, Tae'dae and umm Krokani smile.gif

Then I have to ask:

Mage vs. Druid, which is harder to deal with?

An unprepared druid is useless. Might as well just tumble a couple times then heartstop. Or say nice things to the person killing you. Smile and wave. Wish them luck on the village influence. Thank them for the quick passage back to the nexus. Something like that. An unprepared mage is underpowered, but workable.

A prepared druid is immune to monk momentum and some timed instakills (and thus immortal in the face of a tarot Celestine). Druids in turn get screwed over by wiccans, especially Shadowdancers. Offensively, druid hosing skills are becoming more common, but if you're fighting someone without sacraments, Night, acrobatics, or psymet, it's combat on easy mode.

A prepared mage is not a one trick pony, and so the above list does not exist for mages. They are a very middling class.

You should go ahead and fill in whatever answer encourages you to go Geo, though.

Against a single other person, you should be able to avoid them well enough to get a demesne started. I didn't have any problem as a Blacktalon going to a target, provoking them, foresting, climbing up, treebaning, melding, casting Regrowth, and going to town. Against a group, you are hosed although if you happen to be in a forest and have a buddy nearby, you can always nature flow out (and I tended to keep spores handy for situations where I did not).

Shadowdancers aren't that effective against Blacktalon from my experience. In fact, I found them easy peasy to kill using Thornlash with Narcolepsy embedded (this is like the only situation where Thornlash is useful!). I beat Diamante many a times like this. Likewise, control in Dreamweaving makes you fairly Wiccan immune since they depend on sleep locks.

Finally, Mages do tend to be one trick ponies from my experience. Staff damage was so nerfed, it tickles anymore. That leaves generally Mindburst/Heartburst to worry about and nothing more sans barrier/chasm.

Diamante never learned how to fight a druid. The others blanket areas with brumetowers faster than you can terrain and meld.

I just fought the Shadowdancer in choke with my demesne going and a mote embedded. Sap wasn't necessary. There are no Shadowdancers to date that could beat me. Likewise, I can't think of a single Wiccan period, Moondancer or Shadowdancer, who could even remotely dent me as a Dreamweaving Blacktalon. As I said, Control is -godly-.

On anyone else of course, I just whored sap. Blacktalon is the only class I've ever been and never once died in a OOA fight 1-on-1, spar, or FFA. Although personally, I think Hartstone is now a lot scarier than Blacktalon...
