IT WAS SO GOOD, YOU GUYS, YOU HAVE TO SEE IT

Am I right?

To be actually constructive, it was really faithful to the book, and I think the one minor tweak they made to the plot (if you've read the book, you'll know it when you see it) actually improved the story overall. I was very impressed. Rorschach was especially awesome.

I'm about to go see it right now. I hope it follows the book like you said - it was utterly amazing.

Wow, really?

I'll be honest, I purposefully lowered my expectations of the movie alot because I knew it would never be as mind-shatteringly amazing as the graphic novel. But you say it's good?

Excellent...

Hm...go to cinema with family...get conventional way. Go to cinema with family...get conventional way. Choices.

Like I said in Real World Raves earlier, very nice, very enjoyable. Almost all characters were portrayed believably and, as also previously mentioned, Ozymandias is censor.gif sweet.

The movie was great fun. Egypt left, right, centre, up, down, slightly out of phase with you! The comic was drier than bones - the only comic I've ever been able to read is Sandman.

Which was also excellent. It's definitely one of my favourites, I wouldn't be suprised if they tried to make a movie out of it.

The movie born of my favourite ended up starring Keanu Reeves. sad.gif

D:

I feel for you.

Although I have a bad feeling if they ever tried to make a motion picture out of Sandman they'd hire Keanu Reeves.

Shudder.

I don't know that you could fit the whole narrative of Sandman into a film...what exactly would you cover, just up to the part where he gets his whatsits back and starts out fixing the dreaming?

Most likely.

It's incredible long and pretty complicated when you think about it. A movie most likely could never capture the moment where it's apparent that basically everything that happened previously in the series has been a preparation or event in someway leading up to his death and reincarnation.

An HBO series of Sandman, however, would be hardcore.
Abethor2009-03-08 03:23:33
Saw it, loved it. The one major plot change didn't bother me much. My only problem with it was that they kinda dragged it out a lot, but it was still amazing.

A what?

(If you mean a TV series, yeah that might work pretty well. It's a pity some of the stories just aren't immediately connected to him though, you'd think you were watching the wrong series.)

What was the plot change?

No squid-thing? :'(
Shiri2009-03-08 03:28:47
Damnit I thought that was a sandman spoiler!

HBO is a subscription TV channel known for putting out very high quality series with distinct beginnings and ends.

There was supposed to be a Preacher HBO series, but got scrapped because the tv script writer insisted it be just like the original source... except which is way too insane to be aired on tv ever.

I thought Watchmen was great btw. happy.gif

Yeah, I can see how that wouldn't go over too well with the American public...

I don't know what Preacher is.. but HBO and Showtime don't really shy away from much.
