Persona 3 and 4 are two of my favorite games of all time, for reasons I could philosophize upon for hours.
To change the nature of this thread, did you play 1 or 2 and was either good in respects to plot and immersion?

I've played Persona 2 for PS 1 and both Shin Megami Tensi games for SNES. I've never finished any of them. I think they are all great games. If you can get ahold of any of the PS 1 games they are well worth it. The graphics aren't as good as the newer games, but the story lines are really fun. Persona 2 is a little hokey, but I still loved it. I haven't been able to find any of them. I wasn't able to get any of the new games, because I had some money problems when they first came out. I'll have to check them out next time I'm at the video game store.

Ragnarok online is now a free game, and has been popular for a long time. I thought it was all right.
I've never gotten it to work on my computer. It was about a year ago that I tried. I've given up on it for the most part

I play World of Warcraft. I dabbled in Warhammer and found that while it was a little fun, the novelty wore off FAST and the classes were very poorly designed at the start. 'release mmo yaddah yaddah pushed release date to compete with Blizzard' - first rule of MMOs, right now: do not compete with WoW. You will get consumed and get screwed. Warhammer released too early and suffered for it. Since its release, though, it has drastically improved.
I will not touch WoW. Ever. I would rather start with something less addictive an safer. Ecstasy, or methamphetamine, perhaps.

The Persona games sound fun. I intend to look into them.
I don't get the need for MMORPG (I know, kinda ironic since Lusternia is sorta one). I love single-player RPGs. I loved the Elder Scroll series, Fable, Earthbound, Final Fantasy and more. I erm, don't actually have any of them though. And never managed to complete any RPG.

The only MMORPG on the market that will ever compare with WoW is the new MMORPG that Blizzard is creating.

I didn't like WoW. I tried to play it two separate times, got my characters up to about level 20, and finally stopped paying because i was bored out of my mind playing it.
Age of Conan and Warhammer Online are both better games, in my opinion.

I heard people recommend Lord of the Rings online over and over. I just rejected the idea of it because 1. You can't be a bad guy (obviously something I like). 2. You have to grind for levels like WoW. 3. Its Lord of the Rings and we all know Star Wars>Lord of the Rings and Star Wars Galaxies sucks so Lord of the Rings must suck harder.
Well, I tried it out since its got the free ten day trial and its pretty much awesome and the reason I am not here on Lusternia lately. The grinding is more than tolerable since they offer deeds (you get a title for your character like 'orc-slayer' if you kill 60 orcs.) Its got as much RP as Lusternia since they force quality names (a few bad slip through) and by as much RP you know that I mean a few small pockets that make it tolerable and not retarded WoW complex. Also, its got a cool crafting system with weaponsmiths, armorers, scholars, jewelers, tailors, and so on. (I am a scholar and if you collect texts from dungeons and ruins, you can assemble scrolls that buff your party or your class. I can also make potions and other small items to sell). And I play a Captain class, I summon people to help me in combat and I toss out heals for my party based on some weird almost momentum style system (I do a battleshout, then I can critical, if I kill with my critical, I can do another super attack, if the target dies I can heal my party, or drop a stronger battleshout that hits all enemies in a radius to start the process all over and its stopped by stuns or snaring me). The graphics are awesome and they also offer deeds for exploring with cool titles and stuff for finding all the ruins in a certain area (huge area). The quests and community are nice (even though I like the lols, its pretty much devoid of that and mature. People who act stupid on the OOC channel get told to stfu and go back to WoW and then it goes peaceful again.)
I have played Star Wars Galaxies, WoW, Lineage, Pirates of the Burning Sea, and the Matrix and I never bought one past the trial besides Star Wars but thats super old and outdated now. Tomorrow when I go shopping I am going to get the full game (trial version won't let me trade, use the auctioneer, or talk to people unless they add me as a friend or join my party so its a little awkward to get a tell but you can't respond to it). But I suggest you try the trial. If you want something free, at least you got 10 days to play. I got to level 21 in 3ish.

Different strokes, Romero. I didn't renew my subscription because it was so bloody shallow. Yes, it was a nice change from "oh christ, mage duel time, sweaty fingers, twenty minutes of smacking my macros to make sure I don't get hammered" in UO, or "who has the least lag and best gear" in WoW (yes, it has turned into that. It didn't used to be. I'm old! I need my medication!) but it lacked any depth for me. About the most fun I had was gaining every title and trait before leaving the area, and pretending to talk to my raven familiar.

Griefing me even when I am not playing actively
And Yrael, sometimes I get that feeling of 'oh god another trait to get...' I just don't see myself finishing anytime soon which is the reason I actually play muds. I beat whatever game I play and go 'welp back to the muds' because muds don't end and so it works out. But I have no idea how I will ever even get close to finishing this game.

No, I was writing a giant reply before work this morning and said time to leave for work came before I finished, so I placeholdered it.

Slayer yes, this is their first free expansion. It also unveils the Tombkings superdungeon, like darkness falls, full PvP etc.
@Romero: Need an email to send trial starter to.

Warhammer is now Orderhammer online, lame.

If only they'd put Tombkings, or better still, Vampire Counts, in game. I'd move back in a second flat.

WoW is only addictive if you let it. I play it instead of Lusternia, but I played Lusty a heck of a lot more than I play WoW.
Like any game.
