Read that as you need a Demigod, because otherwise they're gonna slaughter you, even if you're only two.

Why is the Demigod necessary? Are we assuming his boost is key, or is it another one of those mystical powers I haven't found a list of?

Health & higher critical rate (being able to kill them fast is essential when squishies are around).
It isn't actually necessary if all are relatively high levels though.

I've taken a few rounds of them alone, actually. Then the Admin see what I'm doing and spawn five ubergoatsch to mow me down.
How does player presence affect the strength and number of creatures that spawn? Is it only players in the room, or on the subplane? Ceren had me tesseract in once while hunting them, saying that it would be less dangerous, but I didn't understand his explanation.

It's players on the sphere (local area). Above four, the strength of the mobs increases dramatically. Furthermore, every now and again you get a double pulse where twice the number of mobs are created. And tesseracting is safer, because you're less likely to run into a lone goat or two that might be too strong for you when you're away from the group.

It is basically the survivability. I can do one linked mob myself, but if I try to take someone along who is a lower level than I am (84), then the linked mobs will overrun us both.

I have a question about equipment! Speed, when bashing, is rather important, isn't it? So, I figure that with 100,000 gold I could pretty much buy a pair of 110 shofas, or throw another 150 or so lessons into Psychometabolism or Shofangi. It'd be a good idea to try and buy 'em before I learn any more, wouldn't it?

Don't spend that much money on 110 shofa right now, and 110 speed isn't THAT important when hunting. Plus, if the admin ever wake up and realize how much they need to work on letting forgers do monk weapons, 110 shofa won't cost near 100k for a set.
Casilu2009-07-16 04:34:41
My 110 shofa were free.

So, you're saying that it'd be a better idea to pretty much wait it out - trans all of my guild skills before I actually start seeking the really costly stuff?
Shaddus2009-07-17 16:08:50
Trans Planar before ANYTHING ELSE. Period. Then trans your guild skills/tradeskill if you can.

Hey. Shut up. I enjoy making a living on forging shofas! They take next to no time, and I charge 50k each!

110's don't take no time.
Er.... using all words grammatically correctly. Probably better phrased as, 110's can quite possibly take forever.

I've forged about 20. They only take a few hours each, I've occasionally had bad luck where one took 8 hours or so, but it's extremely rare.

I guess the forge just hates my soul then....
