I've decided it's time to take Kio to the Serenguard. For RP reasons, he'll either be taking Axelord or Pureblade, as the idea of a single, huge weapon appeases him more than two smaller ones). So, here's the question:
Which is more viable with very limited credit funds?
Also, what is different in the combat style of the two?
Also also, what weapons/stats should be looked into for each spec?
Thanks very much!
((p.s. I'd happily scour through even more posts, but I have to jet -.- Yay college, eh? I really appreciate all the help found from the forum community, unlike on the Achaea forums, where everything is a competition as to who has the wittiest rebuttal))

From all I understand, Axelord > Pureblade for what you're looking for.

Pureblade has been approved for upgrades though so it's difficult to state at the moment. I'd wait and see how they turn out.

Really? Is this public knowledge that I'm simply not aware of? What changes have been approved?

Oh COOL!
EDIT: As I am biased, I say Axelord, because I am one and I find it quite enjoyable.

Hmm, what does collapsenerve actually do? I have no idea.

Collapse Nerve is essentially permanent hemipledgy on that arm until cured (delayed regeneration cure). It also passively generates epilepsy every 8-12 seconds.
It's a worthwhile affliction.

Also, I was told for a good pvp axe to forge Klangaxe with x/350/280 and for hunting just x/x/280 would work fine.

Out of curiosity, is there a list somewhere of the actual effect of all the afflictions? There are ton that I know the name of, but have no idea what they actually do.

Too bad. Anyone interested in getting a project like that started? Regardless, sorry for the derailing.
More onto topic: I'd say that Axelord is probably the smarter option right now, saying that as a long time pureblade. Pureblade doesn't have any real method to hinder until heavy wounds, and I hear a lot of complaints (along with my own experiences) that it seems to be more difficult for pureblades to build that wounding period. Axelord has stun/knockdown at a lower wound rating (I think I've seen it on the first hit, with a high precision weapon).
I'm hoping that a report comes around that gives pureblades some sort of hinder like bonecrusher/axelord.

It's in my summary, which Shuyin has envoyed another piece of for this month like CollapsedNerve.
Keep in mind a few things about collapsednerve. Heavy wounds isn't a big deal on arms, because it is a low curing priority. CollapsedNerve isn't hemiplegy, but it BLOCKS curing hemiplegy until it is cured and it is a 4s regen cure. Hemiplegy also prevents standing. It's a very nice start to what I was shooting for with the revisions. Another good one, if it's accepted, will be changing severphrenic to a delayed smoke cure rather than what is essentially stupidity on smoking (failed smoke attempts but you can try as fast as you want).

Pureblade is outdated fairly badly at the moment. However, as mentioned, some of the envoys are working on bringing it up to par. Desi also mentioned as a possible subject for the envoy meeting, as it's really the last knight spec that's wanting anything.
Until it's makeover is done, if it is done, Axelord is clearly the better choice. If for no other reason than that stun is still champ, and Axelord has a rather nice one, in addition to most of the better stuff from PB anyway.

That last part has always been my complaint, honestly. Kind of feels like Axelord = good Pureblade because they share the best afflictions from pureblade, and add some hinders and such.

Axelord has absolutely terrible gut, chest, and arm wounds. Pureblade has the great stuff from blademaster. The report that has already been approved will go a very long way in allowing hindering from pureblades to stick.

Works for me. I'm a pureblade more for RP reasons than anything else, so anything that makes them on level with the other three makes me happy.

Even after the suggested changes mentioned here, Axelord will still be the one that allows for easier kills. It is just the nature of having the ability to give stuns. Also, the Execute ability of Axelord is far superior to the Behead ability of Pureblade (1 on 1 that is). Axelords also have a far easier time of bypassing parry, with the HeftyAxe ability, than Pureblades (whose HeftySword ability is worthless).
Now, I am not saying Pureblade is not viable. I've personally done very well as a Pureblade, and I actually enjoyed being one more than an Axelord (hence part of the reason why I am absent. I am downright bored as an Axelord). From my experience, Axelord (and Bonecrusher) are stupidly easy to do well with, because of KnockDown. Stun outweighs the benefits of the Pureblade afflictions, taking far less effort and skill to do well when you have it.

Alright. After coming back and scouring the forums for any traces of posts mentioning Pureblade and Axelord, I've come to hold the following belief:
1) Axelord is not necessarily more powerful than Pureblade; it merely takes less effort.
2) When looking for a weapon, it should be klangaxe/katana with x/350+/280.
Here's my next question, this time regarding equipment.
x/350/280 seems like it's going to be really high-end, and really expensive. I'm not in the situation where I can fork out a helluva lot of gold for the perfect PvP/bashing weapon. As such:
What would the bare minimums for pvp/hunting viable weapons be? I do not have 105k to spend on a single weapon, especially when I don't have armor either.
And, right now I'm leaning towards Pureblade/Moon. It seems like Stag would be a better offensive choice, but again, Moon > Stag when thinking about Kio's RP.
Thanks again!

Been working on it! It's just taking me a bit longer cause I've been dragging with it, but I'm (almost) halfway done!
