What do you mean we have no one else to lynch? We have all these people with Pokemon as their avatars...that is reason enough for me. ( for Kiriwe so she knows I'm kidding)

Well, we can make the person who casts the final vote be Shiri. That'll work.

...killing Jack isn't just an excuse to kill any random townie. We still need to go for ones exhibiting scummy behaviour, either in terms of inconsistency or in terms of blatantly favouring stances that benefit the joker and not the town.

Doesn't seem likely he's a jester, but as a bomb/terrorist, I'm not convinced about his alignment claim.
Jack2009-03-23 06:10:29
I'm not a terrorist, dammit! It's self-defense! YOU KILL MY BACK, I KILL YOURS
Unknown2009-03-23 06:13:55
Sounds terrifying to me. In any case, I'm just keeping the possibilities open, and bomb (sans terrorist) is still an ambiguously-aligned role to begin with.
kiriwe2009-03-23 06:38:37
I still don't see how any of you expect to make somebody cast the lynch vote. There are only 2 people with powers, neither of which is to make somebody vote for somebody else.
The only solution I can think of to kill Jack off without losing a vanilla is to ask him very nicely to cast his own lynch vote. But he's not going to do that.

OMG....
Let's look at the rules again, they are really very very simple. Why is shiri always trying to over complicate things?
The Joker can only win in one condition. no vanilla townies are left.
we need to meet two coniditons to win. 1. Joker or any similiar role is dead (i.e. can't change Vanilla to abnormal)
2. Any mafia or SK that the joker -accidently- created, are also dead.
If the joker makes a cop, the cop can stay alive and town still wins.
The important part if killing off the joker. The sooner we kill off the joker, the more likely there won't be scum.
people who are converted don't matter untill day 3 or so, when the balance tilts in the favor of the joker and any SK or mafia he might have created.
I have no clue why shiri says we lose 2 every night. we don't. We also only have a 75% chance of the joker advancing in his win condition. Every person we lynch makes it easier for the joker to win.
Silfferas has acted like any scum would act. thus my vote there. shiri is also acting very suspiciously, so if I'm wrong about silfferas, Shiri is my next guess.

I will even give you the roles:
1. The Joker: Each night, you target a role and there is a 75% chance that that role will become a non-vanilla role. You'll know if it works. You win if there isn't a single vanilla townie left alive at any point in the game.
2. Vanilla townie. You win when there are no threats to the town left or any new threats can be made.

There is no point in lynching jack today. Ignore jack, lynch him on day 3 or lynch him last if we need to.

How can you possibly say I'm overcomplicating things when you're blatantly oversimplifying it even though you paraphrased the part you're oversimplifying?
The rule is that we win if we kill the joker and any threat to the town. There is no reason to believe that threats to the town only consist in convertors (in fact it'd be pretty broken in the joker's favour if that were the case.) It's entirely likely that there are SKs, survivors and maybe even a cult (its own cult) in the list.
And you're still ignoring the fact that the joker does not want us to waste a lynch on Jack when we could be "productively" from his pov killing a vanilla and he still has an abnormal in play, who's potentially a threat to us that can remove more townies.

Vote Shiri, I'm sick of explaining this.

I know full well what you're saying, the issue is that we simply can't trust you.
Solanis is giving me scum tells too but I'm not convinced Casilu would saddle the joker with a "you have to play like a freakin' ADD clown" post restriction so I'm not too worried, as opposed to Daganev.
Jack2009-03-23 07:00:11
How can we trust you? You've got this weird circuitous logic going on about what the Joker does or does not want us to do. You can talk about Daganev simplifying things but it seems to me like you're making everything unnecessarily complex and bogging us down.
Unknown2009-03-23 07:01:34
How am I acting how a scum would act? At the moment, all we have is Jack's word that he's pro-town - which means that, if he's lying, we'll have to eliminate him to win anyway.
Are you advocating no-lynch, in that case, since I'm townie and lynching me makes it easier for the Joker to win? Similarly, I find those who are trying to divert attention from Jack suspicious, because:
1. the Joker knows who is townie and who is not
2. the Joker would not want to lynch his own convert since
3. it would be to his advantage to push the lynch of a vanilla townie without losing his first convert in the process
That said, Reiha, Shaddus, Renthur, and Sharamah have not posted, and Zynna, Doman, and Tekora each have one post to their name.

How is it circuitous? I don't think I've mentioned a single WIFOM scenario, which is about the only thing that would make it circuitous in the first place.
Less importantly (despite your and Daganev's dubious claims), how is it complicated? I even put out a nice simple list of the actual results. The only thing you could realistically say I got wrong there is not making it complicated enough by neglecting to account for the possibility you win when you're lynched. If you don't want to "overcomplicate" it by disregarding that then it's really fairly simple.

No it wouldn't. It doesn't matter. The more townies die or are converted the closer he is to winning. Since he's already dealt with me I'm no longer his concern, you guys are.
Shiri, I think the very fact you mapped out "every" contingency and had that massive list in the first place proves that you're overthinking things.

Wrong.
He wants you alive so that you count towards his win condition. You may not be anti-town, but you are certainly pro-joker right now, on account that you are no longer vanilla.
