Yes. So (let's assume it's, say, Squirtle) a scum fakeclaims squirtle. The real squirtle, who being a mason is still in the game, jumps out and claims, then we lynch the faker. How is this not obvious?

Maybe algebra will help. Daganev is Mason A, and he has at least one partner. Let's call him Mason B. Now, if scum tries to claim as Mason, while Daganev may not be able to confirm that, Mason B will be able to.

They could always kill the remaining masons then have the option to claim the mason pair later on in the game. But since they cant do that right now, its usually prudent to do that and test the claims.

Of course, we'll weigh the two roleclaims and lynch whoever is less consistent. However, even if we do lynch the real mason, there's no real loss as we lose a relatively-vanilla townie to kill a mafia scum. A very worthwhile trade.

I guess I was thinking back to the last game, where Silfferas tried to out Jack as scum. So if she had claimed something other than arsonist, we may have not voted for her at all.

I will note that there is only one pink pokemon there (I think), wigglytuff. Do we have one out there that isn't Reiha?
