Complained is not the same saying it needs to be changed. I complain about the rain sometimes, yet I don't want a sunny day every day.
Moving on more productively, a competent combatant should be aware of the incoming decapitation. Even withstanding that I've never used the decap/pit method of killing and have in fact died to it, I hold that it's not a big deal either way if the first message shows up or not. I don't particularly see a reason to add the first message, as climbing out (curing) is irregardless of the instakill, and 6 seconds after the second message should be adequate time to do one of the myriad hindering methods to stop decap or to flee. Even with horrific luck, it's escapable.

Evidently you do not remember in what manner you complained. You also call your own combat competency in question, since you died to it yourself fully knowing that it was possible for a pureblade to decap at the time.
Anyhow, there are multiple ways to keep a person, 1 on 1, hindered long enough in a pit to pull off the decapitate. There was no need at all for the first message to obscure the attempt. There is also the consideration that everyone outside of the pit can attack the person in a pit, so the person who lays the pit does not need to be the person who intiates the decapitate. That itself is not a problem, but also being able to do that while the message is obscured was also too much.

Wow my rant actually solved something. I feel special....somewhat.

......yes.
Krin, buy some credits and get extendo arm artifacts. They would go with your hooves and pink eyes.

The pit is just barely deep enough to come up to their necks, so you just lop off the head like you're mowing a lawn with a scythe.
How do you make the pit the right height without knowing who'll be in it? Easy. You use the same technique that tailors use to make robes that can fit faelings or igasho equally easily.

I choose to believe all clothes are made out of elastic, even those which specifically and irrefutably are not. This includes plate.

Pits are elastic too. WHen you fall in, there is a sheet of elastic at the bottom. When you hit it, your body weight propells you exactly how high you need to be for your head to come up out of the pit, by which time, the Tracker, with absolute perfect timing, slices it off.

All this occurs to the musical stylings of Camille Saint-Saëns. Something cheerful.

It is very silly that anyone would defend this tactic. It isn't as if Ethelon is doing this to just people who don't know any better. He is killing very skilled combatants with hardly an effort with just an expensive comm cost. Get a webber or crucifier and what is the victim going to do, especially if they are solo?
If you want to abuse it, expect to lose it.

The majority of my kills are solo Aison, even the ones on the Top Tier, though obviously its not as easy to do so solo as everyone likes to jump in on those.
People must think I just set up a pit and wait for someone to fall in and just start a lolpitdecap. I actually plan out my trappings, and have certain effects/traps set for certain individuals. I also lure, trick, and yes, chase people into them. I love tracking because it actually makes the game fun for me, due to the fact EVEYRONE is able to ignore traps if they are smart in one way or another.
Then again, sometimes I do sit there and wait to lolpitdecap some

Hence, you should expect it to get nerfed.
Because in the last few weeks, an extremely large majority of the kills you've made has been with a pit+decap (save a few that were damage kills on squishy/low tier people).
Setting up a pit in an area like limbo to shrivel every limb on a person's body also doesn't mean you used some genius tactic or marvelous plan to 'lure' them in .

Uh, it wasn't nerfed, it was fixed. It wasn't ever supposed to hide the first decap message, the admins thought they fixed it a long time ago. Pit decap is still quite possible, you just now see the message. I"m willing to bet in a week he'll still be pulling it off.
Then again, we still have monks, so it's never a good assumption to assume something that needs to be nerfed will be.

Why do you, a nobody who just goes around forum trolling, have any right to claim what is fair and not fair, or abuse, cheese, or pink panties?
ALL of the top fighters use the same cheesy combos of their class. Very few are original or do something outside of the box, such as Ceren for example. Narsrim comes up with some amazing tactics also... but everyone else is doing the same cheese, so go yell at them instead of forum trolling people you dislike OOC.

How is it Ethelon's fault that you're too incompetent to cure four mending breaks and CLIMB UP in a space of twelve seconds?
Dysolis2009-04-25 16:55:23
I don't think it is! but this topic should be closed now because the issue was resolved.

Gosh Ethelon. I'm suddenly trolling you because you're using a cheap ass way to kill people while trying to defend it and say you put effort into those pit+decaps? My bad.

how is pit+decap for a warrior any different than setting up a meld? Druids and Mages get to set up an "lol you walk in and I get to hit you with like 10 different affs passively while I also murder you with telepathy or staffcasts or any of the other cool crap I get to do to you while you're struggling just to get up so you can run like hell... into another room I just melded screwyounowyourdead!"
A warrior has to stand there for 12 full seconds and do NOTHING other than concentrate on the decap... during which time you can easily have gotten up and casually strolled away.

So you mean a lone person will generally die to a team? Oh my goodness, I never would have figured that one out.
