So you mean a lone person will generally die to a team? Oh my goodness, I never would have figured that one out.
You're being facetious or ignorant. Which is it?
I've tanked armies. Thoros has tanked armies. Shuyin regularly tanks armies. A lone person doesn't necessarily die to a team, and rarely so if he or she has divine fire. In this case, however, it's very difficult to get out of a pit before decapitate goes off if you happen to be crucified while in the pit. It's even worse if the person who crucifies you happens to be a Nihilist whose demon is set on shackles.
This doesn't mean it's overpowered or by any means broken, but it is a significantly powerful combo that should not be undermined. Any setup that overrides divinefire is worth noting because of the sheer number of demigods/ascendants.

Could I trueheal through it and climb out and run away?

Probably, yes.
By the way, this thread is a large pile of failgasm.

You can't trueheal off of crucify. You still have the delayed writhe. When you are racing the clock, it certainly can help, but it's likely not going to matter because in the time it takes you to trueheal/writhe crucify/climb out, the other person is going to web you or something, which is an additional thing you must writhe, then climb out, etc. Trying to do this to race decapitate is pretty darn difficult to do more so if you happen to be in a snake pit with snakes that can knock you prone and in turn cancel climbing.
Narsrim2009-04-25 19:23:19
Again, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the setup - it's just a royal pain to get away.
Ethelon2009-04-25 19:24:08
I've fought a few who have good curing against pits and you know, they are the ones who do not die to it. I can list at least 7 things that completely defeat this combo... just no one uses them or takes the time to figure them out.

It's easy to get out of it 1-on-1. It's not so easy with people crucifying/webbing/shackling you. This isn't to say there aren't exceptions. People make mistakes all the time. I've ascended out of pits before which is nice.

You are one of the smarter ones though, so if you die to pit decap yeah, it will require a snakepit setup with good timing or a group using web/crucifix. As for others though, the majority of my kills are solo and its due to bad curing/reaction on my victims.

It definitely is very good in teams, sure, I'm not denying that.

I think the first thing I'd try to do if I fell in a pit is smoke faeleaf and hope they didn't notice

I'm fairly certain decap goes through rebounding.
Razenth2009-04-25 22:25:19
Does it go through prismatic barrier?

Well, think about it. If it DIDN'T go through rebounding, you could always raise a rebounding aura before it ended. Every time.
It would be impossible to pull off without a friend there razing for you.

I must then be thinking of the regular behead, not the insta-kill, because I know I've seen people cut their own heads off with rebounding.
Oh well, I would have figured it out when I put rebounding up, stuck my tongue out, then wondered why I was getting a birdseye view of my headless corpse .

If your head is at critical and you rebound off of them, you can behead yourself.
Shaddus2009-04-26 02:31:50
It also goes through regular shield and ninjakari's byahkari.

Since this topic has sort of veered off course, I think I'll hijack it for my own question.
Are delayed instakills room dependent? For example, let's say Talkan was using judge on me and I tackled him out, would it stop the judge or would I die?

never tried it.
Esano2009-04-26 03:37:47
Fairly certain forced movement of the caster stops instakills. It certainly stops chasm.
