A roar of triumph bursts from Ethelon and with horrified realization, you watch as he brings a dull iron katana whirling towards your neck, severing your head from your body. The last thing you see before death is your own crumpling body, neck
spitting blood like a fountain.
You have been slain by Ethelon.
one hit?
usually climbing out of a pit requires some beating down on before getting out, one hit kills srlsy?

Uh, that would be a decapitate ... you know ... the instakill.
Simimi2009-04-23 18:46:16
yea spikepit + pureblade instakill is a pretty smooth combo.
Unknown2009-04-23 18:46:36
Welcome to the world of pit+decap. It's what Ethelon combat is all about nowadays. In fact, I only know of 1 person he has killed in the last RL month or so where he didn't use this tactic.
Dysolis2009-04-23 18:48:26
I say we nerf pits then. If wounds/vamp/burst can't instantly kill, spikepit/pureblade shouldn't either. The very fact of having to keep on shielding is annoying as it is, not to mention once I shield it'll be broken as soon as I try to do anything else. The very spot I was in was also bad because I couldn't teseract out even I wanted to because I was focused on shielding, does parry even help against this?
Shamarah2009-04-23 18:52:23
Or you could, like, learn to cure and climb out of the pit in time maybe.
Dysolis2009-04-23 18:54:53
Nothing should one hit kill like that I couldn't of had that many wounds on at the time for that to happen.

It's called a delayed instakill. Alot of people have them.

Ever heard of soulless? Or judgment?
Daereth2009-04-23 19:10:00
As a victim of the "LolEthpitkill" I must say.. I sadly agree with Dysolis on at least some of it.
Ethelon came and razed me and then ran away, naturaly I'm like BS and chase after him. As soon as I get into the room I hit spike trap, instantly curing and trying to climb out. By the time I climbed and and tried to move I was like 1 second too late in a situation where I couldn't of done it any faster.

Where was Ethelon's setup then? From what I heard it takes quite a bit of afflictions to stack in order have your target stay still for the judgement or soulless to work things like aeon. I can prevent those by either curing them or leaving the room for a bit of time, where was Ethelon's setup in this? He entered and I was dead in less than a few seconds with little to no preparation. I can cure just fine in those situations but no amount of curing will help against a 3 second instantkill that has no preparation whatsoever besides a pit that prevents you to leave.
Unknown2009-04-23 19:14:48
It is also fairly easy to avoid pits in the first place - if you're fighting a Tracker, don't just follow him on foot.
(That said, nerf on pits in water plz. How can I fall into a pit that's filled with water when the room is also filled with water, HMM?)

Log or it didn't happen.
Ronny2009-04-23 19:15:54
Its 10 seconds not 3.
Celina2009-04-23 19:18:24
Pit+judge anyone?

I used a normal pit on you mate as I was outta spikes... you just never climbed out...
As to Dysolis, you just need to code in curing. Against people with pits properly coded, it takes god like luck to pull off a decap.
I like the loleth stuff, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside
Llandros2009-04-23 19:24:23
Well this is either the best kept secret, an unavoidalbe 3 second timed insta-kill in a magic unescapable pit or somone is forum raging because they got caught off guard.
Dysolis2009-04-23 19:29:06
Maybe everyone should get to remove pits then. Maybe throw it in combat or something. Not everyone is a coder. That's the whole point of this rant Ethelon, i never climbed out because I was already dead, you think I didn't at least try to climb up?
Shamarah2009-04-23 19:31:34
Maybe we should remove afflictions, too.

Uh, trigger yourself to climb out of the pit. It's not a complex process.
