You're right. I didn't. smile.gif

Edit:: And the reason I didn't is because I am to busy laughing at your ranting and trying to cry about pathtwist all the while giving misinformation to the masses on how it works.

Are you trying to suggest that in trying to move 10 rooms and failing 10 times in a row (I started logging because it was so ridiculous) because every single time I was hit by pathtwist is amusing? It's actually quite scary that if it only fires on exiting that it hit that often so many times.

It's also outright silly that it never fades. It's silly it doesn't check summoning resistance (at least demesne summon did), and the sole reason currents was switched to protection scroll (and later treelife) is that they raped groups. This does too. It should also be blocked.

Yeah, I too have encountered this. It's pretty ridiculous, really.
Malicia2009-05-09 03:29:22
Fearaura rapes groups too. Especially if they're city folk. Nerf too! smile.gif smile.gif *hide?*

First of all I don't know what log you hit 10 in a row on, because it isn't the log you posted. The log you posted shows you hitting 5 total, and not even 5 in a row, you moves rooms, and got caught by a pathtwist. Moved rooms and got caught by a pathtwist.

Edit:: In fact the first half your log shows you going across faethorn from the cubix point, all of which was pathtwisted all the way over to the dock, and making it there perfectly fine.

except tahtetso, tahtetso can prevent fearaura. the rest of you are screwed though

Clearly we should nerf Wolf totem then. For both of these instances.

On 10 occasions (I logged the last 5), I tried to move -10- rooms to get into my aethership. On every occasion, I tripped pathtwist at some point in the meld and got moved. What's so difficult to understand? I couldn't move 10 rooms without popping pathtwist, which is silly. It's like passive demesne summon. How is someone ever supposed to deal with a Hartstone meld when there is such a high chance for anyone in a group to get transported up to 49 rooms away?

I love how rabid you get at the mention of fearaura. No one cares about wolf totem. At least I don't. Keep it at 100% resistance. Just delete fearaura!

/derail over. Sorries.

In my opinion, PathTwist really shouldn't block you from entering an aethership.

I know it's an exit, but it just seems screwy, if you ask me.

"A bubble over oblivion" is in Faethorn. No bug.
Celina2009-05-09 04:58:44
Oh, oops. I missed the part where he moved. My bad
Desitrus2009-05-09 18:12:04
Shouldn't hit flying people regardless, what path are you taking again?
Narsrim2009-05-09 20:11:32
Someone give me a good counter argument as to why Pathtwist shouldn't check summoning resistance AND be blocked by protection scroll.
Unknown2009-05-09 20:37:56
I'm personally not convinced that both are needed, maybe one or the other though. If anything, maybe its chance to 'suck in' people should relative to how many people there are in the room you're leaving from.

I mean, pathtwist isn't really an 'effect' in the usual sense of the word, and it does cost power to put up, but it has been toned down and will probably continue to be. Doing those 2 changes seems like overkill to me.

I don't buy the power argument. I really don't.

If I could expend 20% of my reserves to passively summon people up to 49 rooms away, I'd do it. Likewise if you are going to be around for several hours, you only need to cast it once. It doesn't fade like demesne effects. It's a very powerful tool, and it's essentially passive summon.

=====+=====

It's also worth noting that Currents was changed to be blocked by protection scroll AND summoning resistance for the same argument I'm making. I'm fine with pathtwist only being blocked by one or the other, but similar abilities should be brought into line with this standard too.

Except that Currents = Treelife != Pathtwist

Correct. Pathtwist >>>> all.
Furien2009-05-09 21:02:52
Do the anti-air effects for Aquamancy and Geomancy hit people regardless of Protection scroll? With the nerf to treelife, if there's nobody with hexagram or a geyser enchantment or highjump, someone can just fly around a Druid's demesne with little issue.

(Paths hitting fliers is still dumb, though.)

They do. You can move/shield though to avoid them. I fly around in a Geomancer demesne all the time. I'd be fine with treelife hitting fliers though even with protection scroll up.
