I've been trying for weeks to get either Treant or Ethelon's paid system to function. I bought Eth's system eons ago and have kept getting the updates, but it's become a hell of a lot harder to install since then. I can't get past step one of either system's installation instructions - half the things I'm told to do I can't do or can't find, and when I do there's errors, and in the end nothing works at all like it's supposed to. I don't know if my computer is terrible or I'm just terrible with it... I rarely have trouble doing this kind of thing and it's getting damn frustrating.

SO if there's any kind souls who would be willing to walk me through the process, please let me know via reply, PM or message me in-game.

The directions to install Treant are about as straightforward and explicit as I could make them. People have issues when they use somewhat unusual versions of Windows (or Linux) or do weird things with the MUSHclient installations and/or settings, but other than that, it's pretty clear.

Apart from that, a support contract is 30cr!

When I go to open the template.mlc world or whatever I get a box with some errors, and whatever I do I can't get the script to run. I've already paid 25 for Eth's, but I can't even unzip the file for that without running into pure confusion.

Don't open the template.mcl world file directly. You're supposed to use it when you create your own world and it asks if you want to load settings from a pre-existing world file. It's just an easier way to change certain useful options without having to dig through settings dialogs.

What kind of walls are you running into when trying to install Avant-Garde? I'm willing to help ya out!

Turns out the instructions on the website are waay more complicated than need be... Shaddus has saved me, and if I ever manage to keel you, blame it on him

Ya the website instructions are all from old updates ... the website is outdated for some parts.

Lots of other people manage it every day, so... whatever.

That doesn't mean that the instructions are up-to-date. It could mean that some people are better at problem-solving.

Ya sorry about that I was talking about Ethelon's. I have looked at your directions and they are pretty straightforward, I agree. People just always assume MUSH is way more complicated than it actually is.
