Uh...the failed walk. Right? There was nothing else special going on. You try it.
Ronny2009-05-17 08:26:12
A failed walk cancels tumble. Fear seems to check for sprawl (possibly others) before sending a direction. If you don't sit before getting feared, it'll send a direction and cancel tumble I believe. Might check with someone else though.
Shiri2009-05-17 10:00:29
That sounds about right, yes. It just means Esano's thing only works against fear, not every other listed method.

As for the rest, there's no other archetype that can guarantee a hold either. I fail to see why Bards should be any different in this regard.

Bards are Broken in this room reliance where they cant actually guarantee a hold.

Thats the basic idea. The only method for kills outside of Spiritsingers is basically minorsixth (octave) or dirge. Dirge isnt reliable solo, and with octave a person can 100% escape. These skills dont move, other room based guilds (mages/bards) can set up multiple rooms for a reason.

Oh, sorry. Didn't see the "nw."

@malarious: yes, cantors and caco could use some help, but buffing pfifth to stop tumble is so not going to happen, and for good reason.
Yiro2009-05-18 15:10:23
If pFifth was buffed to stop tumble, Cantors would be the new badass bards. This can never happen!
Siam2009-05-19 06:29:15
If people can escape pfifth, I want an Octave that goes with me ninja.gif

It honestly only takes a gust enchant or an alias to eat earwort then move. pFifth holds while they're not deaf, or while you're still in the room.

*sigh* I failed to get my point across

Trying to say if people could tumble out, Octave should move with them? Closest example I could think of would be Phantom in Phantasms to that effect.

If you get octave to move with you, I want contagion to move with me. Or dark to move with moon users. Or to move with users.

They're still room effects, and I feel that being unable to cure an affliction is far, far, FAR more deadly than passively giving them.
