Serenglom took out all 4 of Celest's at like 5AM today. Even though none of them bothered defending, it's still a bit harsh to lose all of them for 30 days in addition to the gigantic wodges of power on either side.

5AM for you.

Just needed to clarify that, before the "omg 5am raid" squad ran in here.

It was 9pm for me.

Woke up on an alt, didn't know it was going on. Leaned into the Pool, QW'd....wtf?

-censoe- tells you, "Stay out of the Nexus, dear."

Erm, yeah.

Funny how people think it's Glom that lost constructs just because they're the ones calling for a change. :>

In all fairness it's usually the loser that brings concerns to the forums. Perhaps some in the communes are feeling a little guilty for stomping the downtrodden for dubious reasons. confused.gif

Glomdoring has lost constructs before. Losing just one for a thirty day pop is pretty disheartening, even if the constructs are "optional". However, Celest is hardly downtrodden. From my understanding, and granted I was fast asleep during all this, Celest made little real effort to stop the constructs from falling.

After years of being downtrodden, Glomdoring does feel a little guilty with stomping on others. Oh, mercy, why are you plaguing our cold, dead hearts? sad.gif

Your sarcasm, it saddens me.

I have no pity for Celest. It wasn't too long ago Celest made regular trips to the Aspects or whatever and camped out, killing the crows and whoever came to defend them. Payback is a bitch, ain't it?

Edit: And at that time, there wasn't anyone awake in Glomdoring who could defend decently. Imagine that.

I'm just mad that Glomdoring also attacks the people who used to help them during those attacks.

I'm sure Celest will figure out a way around the constructs. It will all work out, trust me.

Uh, wasn't that only a minor weakening and they haven't been destroyed, though?
Unknown2009-05-19 13:49:38
Can we live without constructs? Yes. They hardly affect my day-to-day life. I might have to ask for a ride to Celestia, but that's it.

Would I like them to be rebuilt instantaneously? Of course, but I don't have a strong feeling towards this issue either way.

Does Celest care? Yes, they do. I went to bed before the actual weakening started. When I came back on a couple hours ago, I got reports that citizens were asking for any protectors that would enter the constructs, and no protectors answered the call. Maybe there were no protectors, or they were scared or too apathetic. However, citizens did try to make an effort to find someone to activate the constructs, just nobody could at the time.

So, it'd be nice if people stopped assuming that nobody cared. The bigger issue is that all citizens should be able to activate the damn constructs during major weakenings.

EDIT: Made it a bit more readable...as it was typed in haste.

It was a major weakening and they were completely destroyed.
Lawliet2009-05-19 13:55:21
Well snap, I thought they were ok... meh, doesn't bother me so much, I got used to getting around the planes the hard way before constructs existed and I only really ever used phial for afflictions and I don't hunt any more, hurray for only standing around on my manse all day now *buggers off back to aetolia nao*

I know for a fact there was at least 2 people that could have done something. One of them was even ascendant scrying us wink.gif

That doesn't seem unreasonable... Minor weakenings - only Protectors, but Major ones - everyone. After all there's like some sort of crazy star convergence causing the weakening to be so major, right? Not too hard to imagine it opens things up a bit. Makes folks able to enter and activate things they weren't able to before.

That said... maybe your guilds should be finding out which protectors (if any) were around during that time and fire them and then hire twice as many folks to replace them. Maybe some people in different timezones so you've got more coverage? If all your protectors go to bed at the same time, that kinda leaves 2/3 of the day... unprotected.

Yes, I'm assuming it's a he tongue.gif

Colossi can't be deployed during minor weakenings. You basically just camp the construct continuously with ground force for those.

Oh. Well, nevermind then. smile.gif
Yiro2009-05-19 14:10:00
Minor weakenings you can just Focus Negative. Unless the construct has damage, then you may Focus Positive until it is fully restored, then it cuts you off.

Both were around at the start, actually.

Though Malicia usually doesn't QQ in the middle of a fight, so may have been a bad-timing thing on her end. Was 11PM EST, so quite possible.
