Arties or demigod aren't required for warriors unless you're upper (really upper) mid to top tier. Saying otherwise is pretty silly.
Monks are cheapest and best to bash with. Harmony Lobo.

For the level 8 regen you have to go Psymet Harmony Loboshigaru, only accessible by Tahtetso. The other harmony Lobos are the Shofangi, but no psionics.

Uh, pretty sure Shofangi can use psymet.

Didn't think they could get psionics, yay, get to be wrong again!

Let me change it: Demigod required without artifacts. Artifacts required anyways.
Demigod lets you get to 25 strength, which lets you do enough damage to force a sip rather than an application, and deals enough wounding to really let you stack between hits.

Nope.

A demi tae'dae might be able to get 25, buut, then you'd have to be a tae'dae.

Tae'dae archlich demigod. Base 20 + 2 (lich) + 3 (flex) + 2 (size 25) + 1 (Geburah)= 25. Though, not sure how big of a difference that would make over someone like Vathael's 22.

I do have to say that I like the idea of the Warrior class. Especially Axelord, as it's a completely new style of fighting to what I'm used to. However, I can always switch to that later.
If I did go the Lobogisharu monk route for the level 8 regen, just how good would it be? I mean, are we talking a bit of regen here or an truckload per tick?
Also, how tanky would I be? I mean, would my damage reduction be so low that I'd need that regen to break even, or would I be suitably solid enough so that it's a substantial bonus?
EDIT: My questions are in relation to bashing, not PK.

Obviously you don't need much of anything to compete on a low-to-mid tier, but you can't really debate the fact that warriors need either artifacts or demigod (preferably both) to compete on a top tier. I can't remember any warrior without those making any kind of dent in me any time recently.

Also as a warrior I've found that if you really want the -best- weapons you'll either be a) sitting around alot forging yourself some weapons (I hear its near suicidal without a mallet of forging or damn good luck) or b ) sitting around waiting for someone else that is forging you some weapons. But once you get those weapons you'll be happy.
Edit: Bah, why does my b-parentheses without a space get auto changed into the sunglasses smiley?

I like forging. If I do go Lobo Harmony Psymet Monk Thingâ„¢ and switch to Warrior at a high level, I should have enough capital to buy a large supply of forging material. By that time, I probably would be able to invest in a mallet.
But yeah, two questions for those of you that might have missed it.

Well I don't know how forging works in other IREs (I've never played them much) but I know people who have sat at the forge for weeks straight (RL time) and still not get anything done. There's a rant thread about fixing forging in Ideas I believe ... you may want to check out peoples' rants about that first if you're considering going into it.
And in answer to the last question about Lobo monks tankiness. You'll have standard damage reduction (except against magic damage) just like most other races. I believe the regen will be a substantial bonus.

The regen cap is technically level 3, but harmony is weird. So yes, level 8 is quite a nice chunk of regen.

And now that I've got that out of my system: Forging in lusternia is terrible . It is not uncommon at all to spend 80-100 RL hours forging one damned weapon.

Recently is they key term, there, too. Before I took a break from Lusternia (more than a RL year's worth) I could, as a pureblade, reliably amputate legs using a high prec greatsword.
When I came back, I discovered that I could no longer get above medium wounds on anyone who cured halfway decently.

THis is the same throughout all IRE muds and what I am used to. Now, this is what the friend who got me interested into Lusternia said, "When you're regenning 1200 a tick? Yeah, it's pretty damn beasty."
Is this an exaggeration? I will say this. I most likely will be going ur'Guard once I am either Demigod or 95+. Is there another Class and Race combo that would outperform or remain close to on-par with the Lobo regen monk that is in Magnagora, or is Lobo monk it?
EDIT: I worded that badly. Yes I realise that in order to get level 8 Regen, I wont be a part of Magnagora and as I udnerstand it, quite possibly an enemy. Traitor roleplay can be fun though, so I don't mind switching late in the game.
