We also don't need anything new right now. We have lots really nice and well thought out places. I think Everiine said it right when he said it'd be better to take a look at things that are already completed before anything shiny is released, it might expand our numbers by bringing back older players who got frustrated or bored and draw in new players all the same.

I may be one of the few who thinks ascendancy isn't that bad. Maybe open up the cults to more members outside the order, that's about all I could think of. Portability of ascendants too plsplspls.
Why should an organization who did not put in the power to make a Vernal Ascendant benefit from that Ascendant? If an Ascendant wants to move, the new org can pay the power cost to keep them Ascendant if they want.

Monks, I've been holding off on combat waiting for these changes

Okay, I hear you don't want anything new. Now, what DO you want to be worked on this month?

I already answered, but that was more directed to Dysolis than you.

It's okay, I really should've quoted. Didn't notice the thread moving so fast.

Honestly? Even though it doesn't impact me in any way, shape or form directly, I'd like to see a few of the leftover wrinkles from previous adjustments ironed out.
Specifically, make Merians worth playing so Celest's iconic race is worth playing (their int score has been shown to be demonstratively near inconsequential, and their vulnerabilites are now far out of skew with any meager advantage the race has), And maybe a strength increase to shadowlord faelings so that they can actually not be horrid in player combat.
I mean, at least the iconic races should be desireable. Elfen are still a block of nice stats, and Viscanti have that massive truckload of resistances on top of the powerful but situational regen (which all iconics have, of course).
And yes, there is the "what about my race" problem, but at least fix up the iconic races!

I agree with this. Races need to be tweaked again. Primarily the ones like merian and mugwump that had their speed nerfed but their resistance weaknesses were left sky high. But just reducing their resistances probably would not be enough - they would probably need a point or two more of con be playable.
Aside from this, I'm excited to see what you have in store for aetherspace, but I have already forwarded some ideas to the guys from Celest going to the committee about that.
The biggest thing I would like is for the rewards vs risk of PvP looked at, as was discussed long and heartily in the other conflict thread.
And I'm not a forger, but what the hell - fix that too.

I say we turn our races into stat choices like in aetolia. They pick a race which comes with certain abilities and or bounes, IE Trill can fly, Merians can dive/swim, but then they choose the stats they want so you can have a intelligent Dwarf or a trill that can be warrior (Everiine). It really just allows people to be whatever race they want without having to pick based off their class. This means you'll see a huge flux of races that aren't used being used by people.
Nienla2009-06-01 19:30:13
I'd like to see a return with something involving the Nexus Worlds. Operating a colossi was fun, and this temporary 'one-construct at a time' puts a bad taste in everyone's mouth, I'm sure. I'd say it would probably be fair to reinstate a new system for the Nexus Worlds.

Mentioning the words 'stat pack' and 'like aetolia' has guaranteed that we will not see racial changes in the month of June, or possibly this year.

This is summarily shot down every time it is brought up. Besides, I like being my squishy self and a warrior .

I have a request. Monk and Aetherspace changes? Don't feel pressed to do it in JUST a month. I would rather you take another season on fixing one thing then for you to do a rush job on 4 things and mess them up even more then they are now.
Daganev2009-06-01 19:35:59
Off all the things mentioned so far, I think the one thing that should be focused on is Forging.
If forging isn't possible, then I suggest "stream lining" combat mechanics.
Re forging: Forging weapons either need to be standardized, or be less random. Weapon can be unique and hard to get and not be random. (say for example, a special ore which boosts a weapon's ability but can only be found in a quest that is done once a weak) I would really like to see the Admin focus on fixing the problem that is Forging/Random combat.
by streamline combat mechanics, I mean reduce the number of extra mechanics that must be coded for a person to get involved, or reduce the number of afflictions that are essentially the same thing but from different classes.

I'd just like to note that in the last 36 posts, forging has been requested seven times.
Please make this a serious consideration.

I'd like to see a fix that would benefit a broader base of players, like families or aetherspace as opposed to forging or ascendants.

To be honest, I think fixing forging will affect a lot more than just forgers. It will change the way combat works, the balance of things, the shift of people in guilds, the culture of communities etc etc.
