You've had a few years to start working on Hallifax and Gaudiguch. How much do you have left?
How about when enough new players show up to support them?
Casilu2009-06-02 02:32:06
Could just do what they did with Glomdoring and start them off as NPC areas.
Unknown2009-06-02 02:33:15
Remove bards and monks, bring in Ackleberry?
Also I would like bashing areas named Hallifax, Gaudiguch, Ackleberry, and Jojobo.

Selfish answer: ascendants
Selfless answers: forging, families in that order
(about families: SERIOUSLY make it so people don't get force-married out of their original family, it's just annoying for everyone)
It's not particularly clear what you would need to do to make races better at this point, other than statpacks which we're not getting...naturally fixing cults is vetoed too, but at least there are other ways to improve ascendance.

GENIUSSTRIKE: For every 1 million power an organization has, it can have 1 construct. So, if you want two constructs, better fill your nexus up with two million power. If the nexus ever falls below the last checkpoint, the most recently built construct is automatically destroyed.
Unknown2009-06-02 02:55:26
Then every org will just wait until four million power and then start raising ascendants again as usual. Would only delay things.

Admittedly I'm relatively new to the game, so my voice doesn't really carry much weight (not intended as whining - I just haven't been around long enough to know what half the things you people talk about are yet ). Having said that, while I love the concept of Aetherspace and Great Families and... hell, everything else on that list, I'd have to say forging. Why? Well, pretty simple answer. It's fairly difficult to get a decent weapon if you're a young'n. Note that I said decent, not godlike - we just want something that makes bashing feasible, not stuff we can go toe to toe with the upper echelons in PvP with. And that's a fairly major deterrent, even for the monk classes.
On that note, I find all the "DELETE MONKS!" stuff out there a little disheartening. I understand why; I think the maximum number of people I've seen on in the Ninjakari was 5, and it's far more often just me and someone else. And the bashing is just obscene. And the combat abilities are, well, yeah a little unbalanced. Still, it's a little offputting to have so many people raring for the blood of the class you started as . Not really sure what my point was there, kind of a "yeah we suck but the RP possibilities are awesome, people"?

I voted ascendants.
It's a problem that affects everyone in nearly every combat situation, while forging just affects a small group's afk time.

The big issue is that before monks and bards came out, the archetypes worked really well together and against each other (or so they say), and now there's a lot of tweaking to be done to return to that balance.
Also because a lot of people want the lost cities/communes but the game's population can't support even one new one, and people would rather have a lost city/commune than bards and monks.
Oh, and more guilds thinned out the preexisting guilds' populations. Moar BT plz.

Go go making Forging viable to make designs which don't use all metal comms.
Careful, or they'll solve it in the usual fashion- no more smelting! Buy mats for every forge! Watch Akui change archetypes!

Also, Illithoid are not meant to influence. If you want to, go choose a race without the CHA penalty in exchange for the huge amounts of CON and DEX they get. /illithoid argument.
Don't forget the int!

Other than that, I also support making merian and mugwump less sucky without bringing back the mindset of speed rules all. Let's knock down some of those weaknesses, yes.
Yay!

I'd like to see changes to forging that make the armor non-warrior classes can wear an equal choice to great robes. I kind of like the idea of being a Celestian of Raziela spreading her message of peave, love and purity at the end of a pink ray of burning light in a golden suit of chain mail.
Although I did find a piece of chainmail the other day that was REALLY good and almost made me consider switching over right there.
(I'd also like to work on clothing layers, but I am actually working on a big ideas post for that, so I wont derail here.)

Yeah, I know what you mean. Like I said, it's rare that I see more than two Ninjakari (including myself) online, and more often than not, it's just me. And, truth be told, if one of the lost cities or communes opened up and had an existing archetype (warrior, say) with the stealth skillset, then I'd be there in a flash. I just really like the stealth concept. Oh, and the possibilities for Illithoid/Kephera RP (and yeah, I know, I still have yet to reincarnate into Illithoid. Give me a break, I haven't died since realising I'm playing the wrong race )

Well they need to be. Magnagora is absolutely boned when it comes to peaced revolts because their races are illithoid and Viscanti, which have crap for charisma and are going against faeling, merians, and elfen.
Shamarah2009-06-02 03:35:19
I don't think very many people seriously want monks deleted, but we're all sick of them steamrolling over every other class with minimal effort.
Shiri2009-06-02 04:02:52
OH ALSO.
I realise this is a creative effort rather than a coding-related one (mostly?) but for crying out loud, make monks and to a lesser extent bards fit into their orgs somehow, the ability of players to fix this situation is extremely limited when the only thing we managed to get accepted at all was supposed to be put in before momentum came in and doesn't make sense anymore and everything else we can think of requires at least some external involvement aaaaaaaaaaaaah.

I thought monks were fair, until I found out Jozan could pull off his instant kill from zero momentum, with someone pretty much at pristine condition, in about 7 seconds.
