So we opened up my computer to find that the mound for the cpu fan is broken which in turn might mean my cpu is fried. :< Dad's having me look for a new motherboard along side memory cards. Blargle.

Computers are like cats. Lazy, fun, and great if you take care of them, but a huuuge pain when something goes wrong.

Yea. We might not have to buy a new motherboard, cpu and memory cards. My dad has a spare computer that he says he'll just put my drives into. That means jumping from XP to win7, whopee.

Last time I had something break and switched onto a spare computer, I had the motherboard and CPU fry, my ram died, and my audio card fried. Be wary.

My DoW II was uninstalled because I had to revert the computer back to an earlier saafe point or something like that. Don't remember.

So annoying.

UPDATE: Can't install it because Steam thinks it's already installed! RAEG!

My friend invited me to go play D&D with them next week. So I figure, why not? Can't hurt. But I have no idea how to play, or even get started, or anything, I've never done this before! Uh, I'm just kind of staring at this character sheet thing and the book all like, what? And occasionally I prod at it in uncertainty and recoil like a caveman who just discovered fire.

crazy.gif I'm so bad at things like this. Ahhh!

Late but I care not. I want to join this local D&D group, but I haven't had the chance to go down to where they meet. Wants to play. sad.gif

I've been using computers every day, usually almost all day, for more than 25 years (before that, they mostly were printing terminals). My vision is still 20/20 and the optometrist thinks maybe in twenty years when I'm of retirement age I might need non-prescription reading glasses, but maybe not. Hard to be sure!

Dissatisfaction, not boasting about your perfect vision.

Getting stuck half-way to Walmart after losing my transpass, then having to walk five miles home. Gonna try again tomorrow.

Being stuck in the middle of no-where sucks. At least, when I lived in the town, I could walk to the shops and the cinema sad.gif

Thats why I throw mine out and just get new ones. Easier than vet bills fixing the computer.

I tend to build mine from scratch... it makes it much more likely that if a single component breaks, I can replace just that one component. If you're tossing out computers, we should talk, I'll pay shipping to have them sent to me so I can rebuild my stock pile of slightly outd... what's that? No dear.. no, I'm not talking about filling up a whole room of the house with computers again honey, nor is this a part of my world domination plan...yes dear...

talk to me later when she's not around...

Rant for air conditioners breaking just in time for 90+ degree days.

You too? The a/c in my house broke down yesterday as well. Ugh, 85+ degrees with god knows how much humidity, do not want!!
Unknown2010-07-15 16:48:15
The Air Conditioning unit here for some reason allows water in when it rains, causing a sickly sour scent reminiscent of decay to waft up into the house after a storm.

Not having any time for actual writing. I'm supposed to have finished a good chunk of my list of project proposals before school resumes, but this summer is not conducive to a good writing atmosphere for too many reasons.

For an in-game rant: hitting a rut in my history book. Sorry, Amani! I'm soothing the rut! I swear!

My college used Anatomy & Physiology as a weeder class for its nursing students. I've only ever seen someone cry over the stress of a class once in my life, and that class was why. No one was happy about that class, even the ones who did well.

My Drawing I teacher made a lot of people cry. He was like the Gordon Ramsey of Art classes. The class started with 35 people and at the end of the semester, 14 finished. Including me. biggrin.gif

I made my IT teacher cry once. And my Biology teacher. And my Spanish teacher, like four times. (I think she left to teach elsewhere, eventually, actually.) The IT teacher was my proudest moment, though, since he was male and in his forties.
