Steam. I want to buy games from there, but because I'm stationed in Germany currently - and hence my IP is German - all the prices in Euro. Furthermore, I can't even pay for the games in Euro pricing, because it checks your IP against the billing address of whatever method of payment you use, and if the countries don't match - fail. Constantly amazed at how hard I try to give some people my money, and how often they won't work a little bit to get it.

A friend and colleague of 8 years made redundant today! F***ing morons are increasing the number of PC's and IT systems and cutting staff...

We are up to 400 PC's supported per tech now. (200 each if you count managers, me and devs.) This is going to be such a fun year.

Ugh. My college accepts like no AP exams. Because I'm a loser like that, I took 12 AP exams and passed them...and I get to skip one class (Physics). What a waste of money.

Finally figuring out how to order new checks from my bank, only to find out that the order was cancelled without explanation. Grrrrr....

I'm guessing your bank/whatever is in the US and uses dollars? What's to stop you from opening a temporary account where you're stationed?


My school didn't let me place -out- of anything, but I did get to place -up- into higher level, and thus more interesting classes (graduation requirements aren't "take this this and this" but more like "take n classes in z areas"). Do you get any allowances like that? Also, AP classes may count for unit requirements so that you don't have to take as many fluff and filler classes.

Maybe I have some kind of defect, but the first 2 minutes and 59 seconds of that video were dull and common, and then at the 3 minute mark, everything got eleventy million times more awesome. The video title description says it was banned in many countries... that's just odd to me. It didn't seem that bad.

Actually, it took them almost two days to reply, but they said they had "unlocked" my account. I went back to the steam store, and everything was in USD. Pretty sweet. They're slow, but at least they fixed the problem the first try without giving me hassle.

Yeah, I saw nothing even mildly offensive about it. Even PG-13 would be a stretch.
