I have a crapload of coal. Coal flipping everywhere. I dug for about 30 minutes straight through pure stone and eventually broke through to a huuuge underground cavern system with lava and a gigantic waterfall pond though, and there's little bits of iron down here.

Iron is more rare than it really should be, I'm hoping Notch fixes that at some point. My current mine is a 5x5 spiral staircase down to bedrock that branches out at the bottom in two block high rings at the bottom. It works relatively well unless you mine into lava and have to patch it quick.

My mine is just...a huge mess. Part of me wants to start a new world and try to organize everything a little better.

EDIT: to avoid doubleposting...

My partner on some project was supposed to send me his information so I could write up the whole paper for it yesterday. It's due tomorrow and I still haven't gotten anything from him. Starting to freak out a little.

Not a fan of needles either. I needed novacaine the last time I went to the dentist. Fortunately, based on my last experience of feeling sick, the dentist and I figured out what was going on (because he does it too when he needs a shot). When I get a shot, I tense up really badly, and when the shot is over and I relax, my blood pressure plummets and I feel sick. Flipping around in the chair gets blood back to my head and makes me feel much better.

IVs, on the other hand, are a nightmare. When I was in a car accident last month and I went to the ER just to be safe, they wanted to put an IV shunt in me in case they needed to hook one up. The nurse is prepping the spot and I'm listening to the heart monitor speed up and up and up. She stuck that horrid thing in me, and I spent the next 5 hours doing everything in my power to not look at the tube sticking out of my arm, because I knew I would throw up if I saw it. Honestly, the time I had a big piece of wood stuck in my knee like a stake wasn't this bad. Needles and tubes though, ugh.

My debit cards and license were stolen last week. I have a paper license. I go to one single convenience store, always, for everything I need. Including cigarettes. Tonight, there was the one idiot cashier who, though she has carded me several times in the past, still insisted on carding me. I had no license save my paper one. She also carded my 46 year old mother buying beer. My mom looks good for her age, but not THAT good. jdzshfsbdkhdsffljdsjfl

Had to do my partner's half of the research for him and write the paper with no input from him whatsoever because he never emailed me his portion of the work. dry.gif I hate group projects.

I'm going to be unemployed by the end of the week, whether I quit or I get fired. Preferably the later, unemployment would be nice while I go look for a new job on such a short notice.

I'm sorry, new boss lady that thinks she's hot stuff. You've already driven away 6 out of 10 of our employees, you're continuing to dwindle your numbers down to having an inoperable store real quick.

$7.25 an hour is not enough for me to get down on hand and knee daily and wire-scrub floor grout a bloody -pizza place- floor because 'the floor makes you want to vomit so you don't even want to look at it'. I'm not getting behind that nasty pizza make-line again and scrubbing that and the floor there again with chemicals that make me cough up a lung for a few hours after, either.

All this while being told to get away from all my work stations, treated as if I know absolutely nothing about answering phones, making pizzas, or anything related to my job when I was headed for management training, ( because my previous boss, after 3 months of us not having the ability to promote anyone due to financial blah, finally got me certification of having the knowledge that I do ), after my birthday this Sunday.

Then you have the audacity to cut me down from 40 hours a week to 10 because you don't believe that I work and will only restore my hours when I prove to you that I can work over the next few -months-??! Again, I'm sorry, management woman, I am a full-time employee, not a part-time like every other insider, for a reason. I am the only person at that place not working two jobs, because this one is my primary. It is my primary because I know what I'm doing, and I have known for a year now, and until now I was treated with respect for how much I bust my butt for my minimum wage.

Don't you think the fact that I have been working at this particular store for over a year and was going to be a manager, out of everyone that asks and fails to become one, says something about my work ethic? Or the fact you got here during employee evaluations and mine was spotless?

:censor: that, I'd rather be unemployed.

I am once again monumentally screwed over by my college bursar office in regards to my tuition and therefore cannot yet register for what is hopefully my last semester. On top of this, the gods-awful system they use to manage our transcripts (or at least let us see them) is so blanking confused about my double major that it says I have at least another year of classes before I can graduate (which I most certainly do not).

Wheee...

Apparently me and my housemates aren't complaining enough, bugs now reside in my kitchen. Getting very, very annoyed now.

This stupid online job application won't let me move forward until I fill out two references, but I don't have any references. I don't even have any friends I'd trust to put down as fake ones! I wonder if I could get away with just putting N/A in all the boxes. suspicious.gif

So I recently switched oilfield companies I work for. Some of you know I spent most of October upgrading my safety tickets so I could get those higher paying jobs and it payed off. Though after today I am wondering if the extra pay is worth it.

Usually now I am a pipeline welder/fitter on facility sites. I basically stand around at my truck welding or fitting pipe from 7am - 5pm. Today though, one of the mainlines needed extra welders and so as it was supposed to be half a day of work (I get paid for 11 hours no matter what though) I said sure I would go... Big Mistake. One of the welders didn't show up and so my day went like this...

1. weld cap on pipe
2. grind pipe
3. buff pipe
4. run 50'
5. weld pipe joint
6. repeat steps 2 - 6 from 7am - 3pm over the course of 10 miles, stopping every 500' feet to weld a new cap or flange on a new pipe.

Of course though I had to use -their- trucks. Which meant -their- drivers. Which meant me no sit in truck and take nice cozy ride every 50'.

Really not sure 22.50 -> 36.00 an hour was enough pay increase for this. sad.gif

Thank god for 4 days off then back to facility site.

References are for previous instructors/teachers/mentors. Hoof it and you may be surprised how helpful some previous instructors are.

Sometimes. I put down neighbors for my current job. Think I've also put down past employers for such things too. Basically any adult you're not related to that you know could work, depending on the application. Never been a fan of online job forms, mostly because I've never heard back. I'm like 1 for 7 with online applications, with that 1 being office depot, and I scored so poorly that they assumed the test was broken and gave me an interview (and later a job offer). Have done a lot better with paper forms and submitting resumes.

THE CHILDREN OUTSIDE ARE SCREAMING.

Some of them are just going AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and running in circles, and one of them is going EVERYBODY QUIEEEETTTTTTTTTT which is much much louder than all their AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-ing.

Also, I am going to the mall today to look for jobs. It is November, on a weekend. The mall is going to be a hellhole.

That's happening here too. They're also shooting each other.

But that's because I'm at a gaming con, and there's games of nerf-war going on in the halls. So it's Perfectly Normal™.

It's normal here too, considering my house is the only one on the block that doesn't hold children between the ages of 6 and 13, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. dry.gif

Also man, nerf guns! I never got to use those when I was a kid. We were too cheap to buy me anything cool to play with.
