Screws suck. Why can't I use nails on my computer?

Uh, just no.

Seriously dislike my university's internet, it's been going down every few minutes. It's still connected, it never drops, it just doesn't work.

Again, having to work all week during gaudiguch raids.

Another longer rant;

I hate the fact that I can't do combat. I do have a system and all but its the fact that when I try and fight I end up panicking and mashing random keys until I die (which is really fast btw). Last time I even attempted to learn combat I wound up getting far more pissed off and aggrivated than I should have (even though it was a spar with a friend). I want to be able to help defend the city and such, but I dont want to get into the whole vicious cycle of dying and being thrown into an abysmal mood for the rest of the day and fume. I love gaudiguch as a city, the rp is alot of fun. But I dont think I can defend it without a significant amount of OOC stress and frustration. sad.gif

Edit:
Because of all this, I have to listen to the fact that we were raided quite a bit this last week. And realising that even if I were there i'd be ENTIRELY useless.

Someday, it will hit me that doing things at the last minute is Not Smart.

Today is not that day.

Hello, biology exam. Let's study before you happen. You know, tomorrow.

Hey, that's more study than I did with all my exams put together this year. happy.gif

I studied three days for the first one, got an A.
Studied three hours before the second one, got a D.
Here's hoping for evening out of scores! laugh.gif

There should totally be a Procrastinator Anonymous for people like us to join. happy.gif

I'll get to the meeting...eventually.
I actually work better under pressure. Every single paper written for my US History and Law classes were written the Saturdays or so before they were due and the lowest grade I ever got was a C- mainly due to them being late.
Though my entire work ethic is very messed up in comparison to others.

Eh working in Call Center sucks, sure good pay here in the Philippines but I feel stuck, no opportunities or plans whatsoever.

Studying has never actually helped me. Either things click in my head and I know it, or I don't. Reading the same stuff over or looking at notes doesn't help at all. The closest thing I have to studying is "find a new teacher/book/etc and try to learn it a different way".

If there was a like button ala facebook, I'd do it.

For me, studying is really just another way of saying memorising. I can grasp concepts and meaning quickly and retain them for a long time, but the names, terms and numbers need a lot more work, and are harder to retain. That's one of the reasons why I often study so close to the exam date.

That said, I don't like to study late into the morning of the exam, or on the day of the exam itself. Not only do I tire myself out, the extremely-late information will interfere wih what I had memorised earlier.

This is me. My teachers always give me the evil eye when I don't take notes and I have to manage to convince them that if they want me to learn the material, they just have to trust me.

Some teachers fail at this. These teachers are the ones that I have difficulty with.

To recap, this week:

- My boss is leaving the organization tomorrow. My team is going to be a set of headless chickens until January, at which point we'll have a new boss at a higher level who will be concentrating on stuff not related to my job while he hires whomever to actually fill my boss' old position. AKA I can look forward to at least three months of more instability after 2+ years of my department being generally unstable.

- Because of the above, my workload is increasing randomly to cover all the random things my boss did. I'm not sure what this entails yet, because she hasn't told me.

- The kittens are trying to destroy my house

- Someone got my credit card information and started charging random stuff to my account, so now I've had to cancel the card and all that fun stuff.

I've had teachers that actually graded you on your notes. It's blatantly discriminatory against other learning styles, but no one in power cares about that. sad.gif

I once had a teacher who made it a weekly, graded assignment to have your homework assignment sheet - not your HOMEWORK, but the sheet on which you were supposed to write your homework assignments - filled out, and then signed by a parent.

Clearly this was some time ago, but the (to me) completely idiotic concept stuck with me because I forgot mine once and he had a wildly disproportionate reaction that involved screaming at me in the middle of class about how I was never going to succeed in life because I forgot this pointless sheet of paper.

The paper doesn't matter, but your blind obedience to the rule of filling out said paper does. Stop thinking for yourself and fall into line, snowflake! biggrin.gif

Nah, I got yanked out of public school after that year because my parents were so disgusted with the way the school (and that teacher) had treated me in general.

In private school there are a lot more snowflakes.

I used to blame Lusternia for this. Sometimes I still do. ninja.gif
