Though I'm sure my brain is not as weird as yours, I will concur with this statement. (On my brain...well both of our brains I suppose.)

I miss school.

In particular I regret that I wasn't born as one of those lucky few with a family that wasn't borderline impoverished and thus did not have to work their way into college from the very ground up.

I also regret that I have about seven job pages open in my browser at the moment, all with 'apply now' buttons readily in range, but all of the requirements make me wonder if I'm really up to the job.

Trust me, in any given line of work - in life as a whole, in fact - most people just fumble around, making it up as they go along. As long as you're not an idiot, and as long as the job in question isn't absurdly out of your comfort zone (I'm talking being a goddamn surgeon or rocket scientist), chances are you're plenty qualified to do the job. You just gotta make sure you stand out to actually get it.

Good advice.

My own rant: I had a candle lit and I was leaning over it to plug a cable into my computer (working from home today due to snow), and then I heard a crackling sound. Evidently I set my hair on fire.

Probably going to have to cut it tonight.

Edit: See, if a guy who's dumb enough to do something like that can get a job, you don't have anything to worry about. smile.gif

I woke up today, and walked out to the kitchen to get morning chow.

Found one of my cats, Butterfingers, laying on the ground. Eyes still open, tail slightly puffed, and it looked like she had tipped over mid-stride.

One of my six cats has passed away.

On the topic of jobs, yay job rejection after job rejection.

I really wish some of the places would give feedback so I knew what was wrong. I kind of feel at a loss at what I should be doing right. confused.gif

RE: Jobs

this search is pissing me off royally, I must say. I have a censor.gif catch-22 on my hands; in order to get an entry level position, I need a year of experience in my field, but without the entry level position, I can't get the censor.gif year of censor.gif experience! HFALKJFASMFJASHFIAKDNFAKL. I really don't want to go back to school so soon, but it may be necessary.

You could try Volunteering, there might be options for it.

You're a programmer, society has very low expectations of us outside of the computer world tongue.gif It is good advice though.

Keep me up at night, thinking that the hallway is filled to the brim with things that want to eat me. I can't walk into a dark room without turning on basically all the lights in the house. :\\ If I do try and be couragous and walk into a dark room without first flooding the house with lights, I usually end up bolting out of the room because I got that weird feeling that something was gonna jump me. Of course, I then look around making sure no one saw my foolish dash out of the room. >.<

However, I am starting to learn that this effect also transitions into the day, since its just me and my dad (plus the cats). This is why I do my best to not watch scary movies. For the most part I succeed. When I do succumb to watching a scary movie it comes back to haunt me.

I thought doing the Bloody Mary mirror thing was bad. O.O Who would honestly _WANT_ to play the Midnight Game?!
Shamarah2011-01-12 03:00:49
The great thing is that even if the Midnight Man doesn't get you, the sensory deprivation-induced hallucinations will!
